San Francisco public schools are full of Chinese kids. Chinese kids come from a superior culture. African American and Mexican kids don't do well in SF's public schools. They come from troubled cultures.

I agree that the political situation is largely a joke, but some people here are making San Francisco out to be a giant pile of tranny semen or something. It's absurd hyperbole that speaks to their rampant homophobia. Those are the people I am taking issue with.

Look at Lowell High School in SF. Look at the University of California at Berkeley and UCLA. Those are all flagship schools. What is the composition of their student bodies? That is the evidence for which you search.

When my older son graduated from UC Berkeley's School of Engineering there were no black or mexican kids in his class. There were dammmm few white kids either. Mostly Asians and Asian-Americans...and mostly Chinese at that.

East Asian and South Asian cultures are superior because they hold values which enhance educational excellence, family cohesion and hard work.

African American culture doesn't hold those values. Latino culture does hold those values, except for devotion to educational excellence.

Are you familiar with the international PISA scores which test and compare students from around the world? American kids don't do well. Kids from the Sinosphere excel.

Your endless hate of people you know nothing about goes bejon rationality.

Its funny how you contradict yourself within a few posts of each other just to hear yourself ramble.

Source: UC Berkeley School of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Program, Graduating Class of 2009. There were zero African Americans and zero Latinos among the graduates. The graduates were mostly Asian or Asian American. Some South Asians and a few Whites. I was present, and I have the program that lists the names of the graduates.

UC Berkeley is the best public university in the world, and it is one of the four top engineering schools in the country along with Stanford, CalTech, and MIT.

I agree. A lot of San Francisco is just an average American city and I love the Outer Sunset district and the Marina, where my daughter lives.

But unfortunately there is a section of San Francisco, Polk st, that gets most the attention due to fetish and street fairs that amount to unregulated outdoor orgies (at times).

As a parent in sf I can say I have never seen or heard of that happening. Taking a stroller with a baby through the castro was just asking to be stopped by men who wanted to admire our daughter

Sorry, Yosh- but while you are right that a lot of SF is just an average City, you still haven't lived here- and until you do- your understanding will be incomplete.

Polk Street gets little attention- the Bay side of Polk St. is a yuppie area, the end towards City Hall is actually better than it was when I arrived 20 years ago. In the immediate vicinity of Polk Street is the Tenderloin, and you can go from street to street- boy hookers on this street, women on that street- the essential difference between SF and say Oakland is that we have all kinds of hookers here.

The festish and street fair area you are thinking about is probably Folsom Street, as the Polk Street fair is really not much different from the Union Street Fair.

See the thing is- I don't go to the Folsom Street fair- so I don't really care. Doesn't bother me a bit. People have a good time, usually no trouble at all and its in a part of the City that I have no need to go to.

You mean my views are "incomplete" because they don't parrot what you think? That's okay with me. My views of SF are every bit as valid as yours, and they go back much farther.

Yes. Folsom is what I was thinking of.

It's just too bad, in my view, that there are parts of the city that you feel you don't want to enter. That says something and I don't know of any other city that would allow their streets to be used for outdoor orgies.

SF didn't used to be this way, but unlike other large west coast cities (Seattle, Portland, San Diego) there is a hard edge to San Francisco that is menacing and angry. I don't get the vibe anywhere else.

I am not sure what your question is- like I said, as a parent in San Francisco, who has spent plenty of time in playgrounds and neighborhoods in much of San Francisco, I have never once seen or heard of any gays 'sneering' at a straight couple with a baby.

But I have been to the Castro with my wife and daughter and got nothing but the same kind of baby attention you get anywhere with a cute baby. Frankly, I have never ever been hassled in the Castro- the guys there get a little handsy but that was only because in my day I was so darned good looking :).

I have lived in San Francisco over 20 years- lived- not visited. Your views are of course valid, just not as informed. Just as I would not know as much about whatever part of the Bay Area that you live in.

I may have not explained myself clearly. I choose not to go to the Folsom Street Fair- its not my thing. But I don't have any problems going to Folsom Street- other than the Folsom Street Fair it is pretty tame except maybe later at night than I tend to be down there. And unless you have been there yourself, your description of it as an 'outdoor orgy' is as uninformed as mine.

Nude men, collars, piercings in places I consider stupid- but orgies- not outside.

Seriously what are you talking about? There are select areas of San Francisco that are certainly dicey at night- the Tenderloin, 16th and Mission, certain other parts of the Mission, parts of Hunters Point, segments of Market...but there are very, very few places I don't feel comfortable walking around in the day time. And I walk all over San Francisco.

The entire waterfront north of Hunters Point is fine, South Beach, the wonderful restored Ferry Building area, North Beach, the Financial District, China Town, Fisherman's wharf, Russian Hill, the Marina, Cow Hollow, Pacific Heights, the Presidio, Crissy Field, Baker Beach, the Richmond, the Sunset, the Castro....

Oh wait- one menacing and angry place is Haight Street- I really dislike the vibe there- I don't feel unsafe, but I just don't like the vibe.

But Cole Valley and Irving Street are great. West Portal, Twin Peaks, yes the Castro, most of the Mission, Bernal Heights, Portrero Hill(except the southern side).

I really don't know where you would be heading to get that angry vibe, but like I said, other than a few 'Tenderloin' type areas/skid rows that every city has, the Haight is the only place I can think of with a bad vibe.

Seriously- I get out and I just start walking- enjoying the houses, the people, the weather. I love San Francisco.

and take their kids down to the Folsom Street Fair to 'educate' them and make them have an open mind...(getting them into the proper 'mood' by putting dog collars on their toddler girls amongst all the nude masturbating men)...

then they can bring those kids to the park and let them show your kids what they learned at the 'fair'..

(warning, this link shows little toddler girls being paraded in public in fetish wear)

    http://xpress.sfsu.edu/archives/news/004352.html

wonder if they'll bring their ball gag pacifiers? (children size bondage and sex toys being sold at Folsom Street Fair..)

    http://blog.sfgate.com/sfmoms/2009/10/27/kinky-couture-for-kids-at-the-folsom-street-fair/

and seriously? you think it's MONEY that is running families with children off? the OP article is BS...there are wealthy families with children.

you can if you trade bodily fluid with them...that's how AIDS is transferred.

to me, casual contact does not include sitting on chair where a nude person just sat...there's a reason why most nudist colonies require you to cover anything you sit on. simple fact of biology

not a chance I would be willing to take with my child.

Not surprised. Who would want to raise their children in a city where, as parents, you would have to explain why men are wearing bras or half naked and wearing leather pants?
