My wife has hazel eyes, I have green eyes--both traits that are dominant over blue eyes. Our two boys have extremely blue eyes (like my father and her father have).

Actually, intelligence is not mostly genetic. The correlation between IQ of child and parent (where the two do not live together, but were separated at birth) is about .22. That is a fairly low correlation. When child and parent were together, the correlation was .42, which is a moderate correlation. That shows to me that environment is at least as important as genetics in terms of intelligence. In addition, the average IQ in the U.S. is rising. This shows that there is an environmental aspect to it. You can't argue that high IQ people are producing more children, so, our average IQ is rising DESPITE the fact that "dumber" people are producing more children.

You do realize that smart people can produce naturally stupid children and that naturally smart children can be produced by unintelligent parents. Also naturally smart children can be nurtured into unintelligent adults. Just some food for thought.

Although enviroment does play a roll in intelligence, I would reccomend you look at the bell curve, it shows that inteligence is inherited.
