As a Trump supporter, I am willing to experiment

Maybe they walk away or we walk away. I doubt the former, but should be fun.

The world has come to expect Americans to be generous ... we pay for much of the U.N., we subsidize the world's prescription drug expenses, we pay for the national defense for much of the world, etc.

    Atlas has officially shrugged.

We pretty much fueled the world economy post WWII, and we've been fighting international wars and nation building and for what? America first upsets these people?

During Donald Trump’s campaign for president, the Anti-Defamation League, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting anti-Semitism and other forms of bigotry, asked him to stop using the phrase “America First” to describe his foreign policy views. As the ADL explained, the slogan was used by people who warned, ahead of World War II, that Jewish Americans were pushing the U.S. to enter the war because they put their own interests ahead of the country’s.

But Trump never stopped using the slogan. And on Friday, he made it a key part of his inaugural address. “From this day forward,” he proclaimed, “A new vision will govern our land. From this moment on, it’s going to be America First.”

    The crowd went wild.

People who aren’t Jewish or familiar with the history may not realize this, but “America First” makes many people deeply uncomfortable. In 1941, as members of the America First movement campaigned against U.S. involvement in World War II and expressed sympathy for the Nazis, plenty of people already knew that Jews were being persecuted in Hitler’s Germany. Even Charles Lindbergh, the famous aviator who led the America First movement, knew it.

Every nation's leadership has a duty to put their nation first. We carried the free world through the post-war world to the Cold War Victory. Trump's speech made the point that should have been made 25 years ago. We will do our part, but the free ride on the American Worker and Taxpayer, IS OVER!
What in the world are you talking about?
So? Unless they threaten us, they shouldn't be.
What's "globalism"? Who pays for it?
    "Losing" what?

Snowflakes will just have to get used to hearing "America first".

Or they can move to Mexico with Barbra Streisand and Miley Cyrus.

The U.S. Government gave a total of $23.3 million to Canada in 2012

You can kiss any more of that goodbye.

Bull(*)(*)(*)(*), Europe and much of the Pacific were practically destroyed with zero means of production. The US, virtually untouched was the main nation still with means of producing goods.

While I agree, you gotta also compromise. This talk of only America first is harmful to free trade. If you're not going to be fair every country is just gonna tell you to go away.

That's not what Trump talked about.

He talked about the evilness of our country.

He talked about handing America over to business interests, no doubt echoing his choices of cabinet secretaries from Goldman Sachs, big oil, etc.

He said nothing about bringing America together - he positioned himself as being on the attack.

Basically, he has not yet gotten over campaign mode.

Yes...and Merle Haggard's song is an anthem to the Reich, just as America First Credit Union has a strict no Jews allowed policy, and America First Search and Abstract opposes title searches anywhere in the world except the US on isolationist principles.

The truth is, Trump saying America First has nothing to do with the America First Committee, and you guys know it. You are trying to avoid the real issue; which is America putting it's national interests first. That is the America First that you really hate, but you feel you can't say something so anti-American directly so you couch it in PC terms by saying no one is allowed to think or say "America First" because Nazi's/Jews/Isolationism.

I get what your trying to do. That's even something that probably would have worked a few years ago. Just not anymore.

"We met the Kyoto goals; you didn't."

2012 The US, which never ratified the treaty, became the first country to meet its assigned reduction goal with a 5.2% reduction in CO2 emissions due to a switch from coal to natural gas for power generation.[16

And now you're going back to coal thus negating your accomplishment. And you think you're better than Canada :roflol:

    Amen!

Plus, the natural gas thing was a one time event.

It's not like we're going to find some other natural resource that will absolve us of our continued bad behavior and denial of science.

More importantly I'm sure our Jewish friends will appreciate the new Presidents favor over the insulting way they've been treated over the last 8 years.

So we met the Kyoto goals without even trying, while Canada quit Kyoto because they couldn't meet them.

Now, I'm not saying the US is better than Canada, any more than a 747 is better than a Ford Focus. We're just different. However, I should note that I'm not on Canadian forums begging them to pay attention to MEEEEEEEE!
