A marriage can only be an event between one man and one woman. Other relationships can be called other things like civil unions, living in sin, shacking up, etc but they are not marriage.

No, it’s opinion, essentially based on nothing other than semantics. Whether he accepts the commonly used definition of the term “gay marriage” or “same-sex marriage” doesn’t impact the commonly used definitions and doesn’t impact the existence of the relationships the terms refer to.

Parents can be deluded about all sorts of different things and still successfully raise children. Being in a same-sex relationship doesn’t automatically imply delusion though. Believing your personal opinion on the matter automatically implies that is very much a delusion.

That does not contradict my statements unless you’re asserting that it is impossible for anyone to successfully raise children unless they’re a heterosexual couple who remain married throughout. That would be demonstrably false.

The derivation of the word "marriage" is to provide a husband OR a wife, not husband AND wife. So from the derivation two men can be married to each other.
