Trump's crusade to reopen schools and universities in the fall is already backfiring on him

    THAT'S AN ARGUMENT.

And it is a strawman because I never made the claim that schools shouldn't re-open or that education is not essential.

I dare you to find a study which concludes "school reopening are not a risk."

Name for me another western country who isn't opening their schools this fall (not including France of course). Then explain to me again why you think Trump is a fool for wanting to open our schools.

There is always a risk to EVERYTHING. Based on results from other countries and based on their own reopening, the risk from covid is small for children. That is not to say precautions should not be taken.

You mean the same admin that is attacking the world's leading expert, who actually helped develop a vaccine that is being tested now.

Thank you for linking the information. The "dontforgetthebubbles.com" is a....questionable choice of domain, but the science appears sound. Here are their primary conclusions:

From the studies listed above we can determine:

    • Children appear significantly less likely to acquire COVID-19 than adults when exposed
    • There is reasonable evidence that there are significantly fewer children infected in the community than adults
    • Children are rarely the index case in a household cluster in the literature to date
    • It is not clear how likely an infected child is to pass on the infection compared to an infected adult, but there is no evidence that they are any more infectious
The most parsimonious explanation for all the above seems to be that children are less susceptible to becoming infected, therefore fewer of them have become infected, there are subsequently fewer infected individuals in the community, and children have therefore infrequently brought the infection into their homes.

There's a certain amount of risk involved with anything so asking me to find one with that exact conclusion is absurd at best. Although this basically does it.

    https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/07/200710100934.htm

How about you educate yourself. You've made a LOT of totally baseless claims in this thread. The science PROVES YOU WRONG. Get over it.

Or don't listen to me, maybe Scott Atlas (his credentials speak for themselves)?

In fact, with what we know now, we know the flu is more dangerous to kids than covid (and it isn't close). So if you really believe your own bullshit, why don't I see you advocating we shut schools down every single year between november and april? One reason and one reason only......politics above all else to the left.

I don't see the conclusion that they are less likely to "and spread" the virus in the studies you linked, but it is because there is just not enough data.

The sciencedaily.com article is note that says children are unlikely to spread the virus when they maintain proper social distancing guidelines. That is true of just about everyone though, isn't it?

And the "school openings are not a risk" is literally just me quoting you.

Name for me another western country who is doing worse than America at handling this virus right now and is opening their schools this fall.

Well....if that is how you feel.

Children with existing respiratory conditions should certainly be extra careful....as they need to be throughout the year. As I have shown, the common influenza is more dangerous to children under 15 than covid is. In fact, the flu has killed 3 times the children this year already. Do you support keeping schools closed now forever?

yes we learned more...and from your own link we learned that the 40 some kids were kids with underlying health issues like asthma...not every kid has that...most don’t. Not every kid should suffer from the major health issues related to not going to school because of the few with asthma.

did you actually even read your entire link?

Ignore all science. The article blatantly states that schools can and should reopen in the fall. And you clearly didn't read it. It flat out shows that children RARELY transmit it to adults.

Once again, the science proves you wrong and you are ignoring it because of a political agenda. You can't even read scientific results that might challenge your agenda.
