    Strawman, I never said otherwise.

    Hate is a strong word

I have already said he is successful at what he does, I think he is of poor character however and highly corrupt — but a lot of people say you don’t make it to the big leagues by playing fair.

I just think we should expect more out of our politicians.

I think before using people as an example of something you should know their history better, is all. Like you said, nearly every rich person had to step on top of people to get where they are. ALL OF THEM. You don't become "wealthy" being "good". I'm not talking just rich. I'm talking pure wealth.

Thanks for demonstrating that you cannot disprove one single statement in my post. Appreciate your confirmation that my post is true.

But an easy challenge for one of your self imagined economic expertise. Post a single chart of any actual economic metric that has significantly changed trajectory since Trump took office. Excluding the national debt of course. And you should probably look up the definition of " metric " before posting.

Nah, I would have fed them steak, chicken, lasagne, and barbecued ribs with beer and wine.

I thought his cheapest stunt was when he was a candidate and ran the fund raiser for the veterans and then tried to steal the money.

A person can get charts to say anything The truth of the matter is the economic experts were all saying America had turned into a service economy. It wasn't till Trump came along that changed that. They are no longer saying that. A few examples, there are more.

The Trump Manufacturing Jobs Boom: 10 Times Obama's Over 21 Months

The Great Recession officially ended in June 2009, six months into former President Obama’s first term. The economy continued to shed jobs until the following March. Manufacturing was particularly hard hit, with almost 2.3 million manufacturing jobs—some 1 in 6—lost between January 2008 and March 2010.

As is the case during recoveries, jobs bounced back, with seasonally adjusted nonfarm employment expanding almost 12% from March 2010 until January 2017, when President Obama handed over the presidency to Donald Trump.

But during the same period, manufacturing employment grew only 7.7% with manufacturing payrolls virtually flat in the last 21 months of the Obama administration.

We were told it was the new normal.

At a town hall in June 2016, President Obama famously said that some manufacturing jobs “are just not going to come back.” He went on to mock then-candidate Trump by saying he’d need a “magic wand” to make good on this manufacturing job promises.

Months later, as the shock of a President-elect Donald Trump was still being absorbed, New York Times columnist and economist Paul Krugman tweeted on November 25, 2016, “Nothing policy can do will bring back those lost jobs. The service sector is the future of work; but nobody wants to hear it.”

"There are now 1.2 million fewer jobs in mid- and higher-wage industries than there were before the Great Recession, according to data from the National Employment Law Project. In contrast, there are 2.3 million more jobs in lower-wage sectors than before the recession," according to CNBC. Nor is there the hoped-for renaissance in American manufacturing. We have some 300,000 fewer manufacturing jobs since President Barack Obama took office and 1.5 million jobs below the pre-recession level.

    And the future is hostage.

Nov 03, 2016 · CNNMoney breaks down what kinds of jobs have been created and ... Almost all of the job gains under President Obama have been in so-called service jobs,

The bottom line is: Almost all of the job gains under President Obama have been in so-called service jobs, such as those in Silicon Valley and consulting. Others are the low-end jobs, toiling in stores and restaurants.

    As in prove not guilty???

YOU are the one alleging they are true. The burden of proof is on you.
As far as a "metric", of system of measure- there is no argument that the market was rising under Obama. There is no argument that a rolling car isn't rolling either. The question is whether or not it is accelerating, or coasting. Trump hit the accelerator.

Let's avoid FOX, use a CNBC article to explain.

Trump has set economic growth on fire. Here is how he did it
    Published Fri, Sep 7 2018 • 11:20 AM EDT | Updated Fri, Sep 7 2018 • 12:50 PM EDT
    https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/07/how-trump-has-set-economic-growth-on-fire.html

    Key Points
    • President Donald Trump presides over an administration that has seen an enormous level of controversy that could overshadow a burgeoning economy.
    • He has delivered on promises to cut taxes and regulations and promote activity through more aggressive government spending.
    • Critics believe that it won’t last because the fiscal stimulus is aimed only at near-term growth.
    • The results, though, have been impressive: a surge in company profits and near-record levels of optimism from consumers and businesses.
Now one could throw in unemployment numbers, absolutely astounding. GDP hitting 4.2, also off the charts.
Or, you could throw in the automatic denial the you apply to anything Trump does, believing that denial alters reality. Probably works in the liberal/dem mind, but I doubt if it works anywhere else in the universe.

Nice try. You have now proven conclusivly that no economic metric has changed direction or momentum significantly since Trump took office. But there is no question that corporate profits have surged just like the national debt all with the indisputable result that the rich have gotten much richer.

And the evidence is pretty solid it won't last or have you not seen the GDP growth estimates for next year?

If you are talking a big power war fought with ships and submarines you are living in the past. And you did compare today with WW2. Or did you forget you said:

" We lost 1,700 ships in WWII and Germany and Japan didn't have anything like China alone has."

If you think both sides are going to sling nuclear missiles at each other right off the bat, your mistaken. They wouldn't get down to that until one side begins to lose. It will start over a war on water. If it happens with China, it will be over the passage in the South China sea, either over that man made island China has built and trying to keep everyone out of, or they will attack Taiwan, which we have a defense treaty with and you bet it will involve a lot of ships and submarines.

Yeah they drink beer and eat pizza but beer would be illegal for most of them and Trump's already catching hell for giving them pizza. I can just imagine the outrage and calls for impeachment serving them beer would have brought.

It will also involve a lot of Navy and Marine fighter jets, as the Air Force can't land on carriers. So it's vital those planes are ready to go. Not 70% grounded for lack of spare parts as Obama had them.

Well you have an opinion. Nonsense of course but you are certainly entitled to it. There hasn't been a conflict between major powers since WW2 and the nuclear option is the reason.

Define significantly I guess. Seems to me the growth in manufacturing jobs that Obama said we're gone for good is a significant change in the economy since Trump interposed his economic policies between Obama's policies and the economy.

Well why don't you look up the after inflation wage increase for the average American since Trump took office versus the wage gains during the Obama administration and then get back to us. I know you will learn and accept the data better if you find it yourself.

I agree, but that isn't to say it won't happen and none of the super powers are laying back doing nothing figuring it won't. China is building like crazy. It is stupid for us not to even keep up what we have much less not add to it. To have some of our nuclear sub in dry dock for up to four years is asinine. One lost their certification to even dive.

But now that we're in the midst of a booming economy — which kicked in after Trump reversed almost all Obama's economic policies — we're supposed to believe that it's Obama who deserves all the credit.

Yep. That's precisely what Obama and his Amen Chorus in the press want us to believe.

In his speech in Illinois last Friday, Obama complained that Republicans were taking credit for his work.

"When you hear how great the economy's doing right now, let's just remember when this recovery started," he said. "I mean, I'm glad it's continued, but … suddenly Republicans are saying it's a miracle."

This week, White House Council of Economic Advisers Chairman Kevin Hassett wisely set the record straight. At a briefing on Monday, he noted that just about every important economic indicator showed the economy was stalling out in Obama's last year.

Hassett explained that small business optimism had been on the decline before the November 2016 election. The percentage of businesses saying it's a good time to expand was, too. Business investment was stagnant. All those turned upward starting in 2017. Applications for new businesses are now well above the trend over Obama's entire second term, Hassett noted. And blue-collar jobs are growing faster than any time since the Reagan administration.

    Turnaround on GDP Growth
There's more. The rate of GDP growth was decelerating in Obama's last year. It went from 2.3% in Q2, to 1.9% in Q3 to 1.8% in Q4 of 2016. Under Trump, GDP growth has averaged 2.9%. It was 4.2% last quarter and might be higher in the current one.

The stock market also was stuck in neutral the year before the November 2016 elections. The Dow is up by some 45% since then.

Real median family income didn't budge from August 2015 to November 2016, according to Sentier Research. It's up more than 4% since Trump came into office. Wages are on the upswing.
