I don't need to make anything up, NONE of those folks EVER falsely complained about a stolen election or were impeached, even once, or incited a mob to attack our Capitol; not one.

Just because a person disagrees with you a lot doesn't mean that they fall into a category opposite of you. Generally I only post when I disagree with someone or am playing Devils Advocate. I don't state everything that I believe.

    What reality am I ignoring?

The one where over 60 lawsuits, including the SCOTUS, Trump lost?

The one where the 'fraudit' in AZ, which was supposed to 'prove' Biden lost to Trump, but only proved Biden got more votes?

The only agenda that is harmful to the nation is the one by republicans which has undermined confidence in election based on no evidence, and to that extent, and eroded a core American value, called 'democracy', not to mention Trump is the most despicable president in history , a threat to US National Security and unfit to serve as president, more so than any president in history, all of which is the right wing agenda to back him, not to mention that republican administrations have had far more convictions and indictments that democratic administrations, not to mention the fact that Democratic administrations, on the whole, are better for America than Republican administrations and the hard statistics prove it:

10 of 11 recessions occurred when a republican was president.

Both instances of when the nation crashed and led to a depression, or close to it ( 1929 and 2008 ) A republican was president.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._economic_performance_under_Democratic_and_Republican_presidents

Historically, the United States economy has performed better on average under the administration of Democratic presidents than Republican presidents since World War II. The reasons for this are debated, and the observation applies to economic variables including job creation, GDP growth, and stock market returns. The unemployment rate has fallen on average under Democratic presidents, while it has risen on average under Republican presidents. Budget deficits relative to the size of the economy were lower on average for Democratic presidents.[1][2] Ten of the 11 U.S. recessions between 1953 and 2020 began under Republican presidents.[3]

    http://www.presidentialdata.org
    • Ten of the last eleven recessions have occurred under Republican Presidents.
    • Democratic presidents create more than twice as many jobs per year as Republican Presidents.
    • Republican presidents' deficits are 54% larger than Democrats' and 65% higher as a percent of GDP.
    • GDP grows 75% faster under Democratic Presidents.
    • Business investment has grown twice as fast under Democratic Presidents than under Republican Presidents.

No one I've ever met or known left of center would defend Trump, or be as blind to his transgressions as you are.

It's how you look at things, it's common to how the right of center look at things

In one of your replies to another poster, You wrote:

I read the transcript. I did not see anything in it that showed Trump pressuring Raffensberger with anything. Trying to convince him? Sure. But he put no more pressure than you or I would if we tried to convince someone of something here at PF.

You completely missed the boat about Trump's call to Raffensberger. That you would do the is typical among right of center types.

what did you miss? You missed the point of what could be illegal here, which is NOT that Trump was 'pressuring', which is vague, nor was he merely trying to 'persuade' ( which has the color of innocence ) it was the fact he was making an ATTEMPT to subvert the election by getting Raffensperger to decertify Biden's win without evidence. How can you miss this?

You missed the part where Raffensperger, when Trump asked about a certain video showing cheating, R said:

Raffensperger: You’re talking about the State Farm video. And I think it’s extremely unfortunate that Rudy Giuliani or his people, they sliced and diced that video and took it out of context. The next day, we brought in WSB-TV, and we let them show, see the full run of tape, and what you’ll see, the events that transpired are nowhere near what was projected by, you know

What this shows is that Team Trump is manufacturing evidence, tampering with evidence, etc, to forward a particular narrative based on lies.

And you are missing all this?

Seems to me you are, the only one's I've seen do that are on the right, not on the left.

so, I cannot fathom how you can call yourself left of center, noting that the so-called test you took doesn't get into the deeper dynamics ( as being discussed here ) of left vs rightisms.

IN my view, you're no lefty.

But, if you support the ACA, and universal health care, I'll accept your being a lefty, just one being misguided on Trump.

    If not, no way.

Minus the blind part....now you've met one. Now what?

Did Trump give him that video? Or was the video distributed to the masses?

I don't support the mandate of the ACA. I do support UHC. I also support providing schooling for everyone on the taxpayers dime up through college. I also support same sex marriages. I support abortion up until viability.....and all my past postings show all of this. So....should I go on with my qualifications of not being right of center? But I'm not a lefty either. I support Right to bear arms. I support banning abortion after the point of viability. I support, in full, the right to free speech, which includes beyond just that that is protected against the government....along with all other actual Rights.

Pigeon holing me is not going to do you much good. And will always fail.

You mean like arresting parents for participating in local school board meetings? The only peril facing Democracy in America at this point in time is the very party seeking to nationalize it.

You ignore the reality that no proof of fraud sufficient to prove Trump's allegation that 'Democrats stole the election' as ever been produced in a court of law, let alone the supreme court.

At what point have I done this? It still doesn't absolve you of the aforementioned schism between you and reality. I'm sorry reality doesn't reflect your notion of identity driven tyranny, but the fact remains that it does not. That you would disarm the most vulnerable of us all to be victims to your pet mobs are astounding demonstrations of how depraved your thinking here is.

Not necessarily, of course, but it is not altogether unreasonable to draw that conclusion.

I take every post at face value. I am no mind reader nor read-between-the-lines person.

If someone posts like a right winger, then by the principle of 'if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck...it's a duck' then they are a right winger. If they aren't, fine, let me know, but don't tell me it's not an unwarranted conclusion, right or wrong.

History is replete with cops making unwarranted arrests. that has been going on since time began. That isn't even right or left, just bad policing.

The peril facing democracy are republicans creating laws that perpetuate their power against the will of the people. That is what creeping fascism really is.

The problem being of course that you will never get a complete picture of a person by what they post. At best all you get is what on the cover of a book. The title and possibly a brief summary if you include the back of the cover. And as they say, never judge a book by its cover.

It's the only reality behind my posts, so, by that fact, you are missing it, not to mention the creeping fascism of the right wing.

Federalism is a thing. Real fascism is not possible in the presence of strong state rights. Take away state autonomy in elections and put it in the hands of the national government and you have taken the greatest stride possible towards fascism. Then it will be impossible to flee your state for relief, all states will be under the same thumb and same corruption. If you really fear government power and fascism, they you must default to supporting actions that enervate the power of the national government ESPECIALLY WITH REGARDS TO ELECTIONS.

Trump literally tried to install himself as an unelected President. Literally. While you may not care about the Constitution or about democratic elections, others do. And no one with two brain cells to rub together can honestly deny that Trump threatened that and continues to do so.

Ah, your argument rises or fall on the 'strong' premise.

And there it is, republicans are whittling away at the strength of the rails and institutions that has protected America in the past and it is gradual, hence the 'creeping' descriptor.

Again, I repeat, at this juncture, we are talking about 'creeping fascism' NOT full blown fascism.

It is possible. Hitler came to power via democratic means. So did Duterte, so did Erdogan, so did Bolsanaro.

    Very possible.

Despite it's flaws it does work for you and me. The point being such agencies are established to keep corporate greed in check. Usually after greed has become a public health/safety concern. Go back to Nixon's establishment of the EPA as an example.

It's impossible to reconcile your hollow accusations of "identity driven tyranny" while you continue to support the Orange Fraud who tried to steal the election from the majority of voters in a move reminiscent of the world's authoritarian dictators.

Not one word about corporate greed exists in the FDA'S enabling legislation. It's sole and only purpose is to ensure that the food and pharmaceuticals consume are as safe as possible. Please note it is not possible to ascertain with certainty that anything is 100% safe.

Everything politicians do is for the purpose of gaining/maintaining power. Those of us with more than 2 brain cells can see that. It is refreshing to see Trumps opposition take a sudden interest in the constitution. I live in Los Angeles. the home of no second amendment rights and "free speech zones" on campus. He never had a voice here.

While we're on the subject of slaughtering rights, how is that forcing people to participate in experimental medical research going?

If every politician were like this, this would have happened before. It hasn't. Trump is more corrupt than any other politician. No other politician in the US has tried to install themselves as an unelected president. And I've always been pro-Constitution, unlike Trump and his followers. You'll have to try to play that games somewhere else. But keep cheerleading for anti-Constitutional authoritarianism!

If you believe Progressives just found out about OUR Constitution you must be a modern day Rip Van Winkle. We just wish tRump and the tRumpublicans would find out about it and :eyepopping: read it. Then do what they swore to do ... uphold it.

You are incorrect. Results show that in spite of record profits for pharm companies, Americans are sicker than ever. Have you noticed the commercials for class action lawsuits for damage caused by products the FDA deemed "safe and effective"?

It appears that Trump controls both brain cells. Every politician works to gain/maintain power. Not all of them are capable of getting their opposition to work for them free of charge like Trump does.

The reason dems hate him so much is that when they look at him, they see their own reflection.

Funny you should mention that. Here in the Progressive petri dish, Los Angeles, a student was handing our copies of our constitution on campus. He was threatened with removal by law enforcement for not confining his actions to the "free speech zone"

Also, the right to bear arms does not exist here. (Unless one is a cop, judge, or a criminal)

What about ones right to bodily autonomy? Your party is working to force people to consume Trumps experimental medical product. What happened to "My body, my choice"?

Tell us more about how progs value the constitution:
