ISTM that those who indulge in fairytale conspiracy theories, who are worried that someone is going to "take over the USA" , who think that rights and freedoms are being eroded, who equate expressions of justice for the equality of minorities with the attempt to trample over constitutional law/take constitutional law into their own hands using weapons nad including potential (and actual death) , are proud to be associated with the far right.
I see none of this behaviour either in the USA or in Europe by those associated with the left. Yet the right accuse the left of eroding the quality of their lives.

Demonstrating in the streets, taking the knee, even throwing statues into a river, do NOT erode anyone's freedoms. They do not threaten democracy. The attempt to disrespect the democracy described and assured by the constitution erodes the freedoms of every person in the country.
Why? Because any follow-up would be in support of someone they did NOT want to be the head of their country. That had already been proven over and over and the madness of Trump does not make it wrong. It would technically be a coup d'etat.

What I find interesting is that the Oath Keepers outright said they were not following Trump or taking orders from him and were not happy with him for not being aggressive enough so they took matters into their own hands. They would not have listened to Trump if Trump told them to stop (which Trump really couldn't have done since he didn't give them their marching orders in the first place).

To activate the DC guard, it has to come from 1 of 3 people.

 

In that aspect, no they aren't. But that's also irrelevant.

Well I wasn't 100% sure that was what you meant as you said you thought they should be treated the same as the BLM rioters. Since many of the BLM rioters escaped with barely a slap on the wrist, I wasn't sure if you meant that's what the Capital rioters should receive as well.
