Footnote I once had a two hours late night class on Maxwell field theories which involved such fun things as integrating in 3 dimensions and I was pouring coffee down my throat to deal with this class. There was four or so of my fellow students that would used their short break in the middle of the class to go out and smoke pot and to this day I can not figure out how the hell they did that.
You are lying, I know many as well. All professionals with good careers, PhDs, MBAs and what not. You probably know one meth head that smokes pot also and that's what you associated with pot - - - Updated - - - Yeah, who seems more paranoid, the right wingers who live in small towns surrounded by only other white christians grasping their arsenal of guns thinking there is a mexican and a muslim around every corner, or an Obama waiting to take their guns. Talk about paranoid and angry
And colorado is a wild success. They are rolling in tax money that is going to schools, at a time when there were fiscal issues. They created an entire industry of growers and stores. These are jobs, going to taxpaying people and not the black market. So on top of the tax on the weed, they get income tax on the workers and the owners of these stores. I believe $1Billion dolllars was spent on weed in Colorado. There are no issues with crime, Colorado still is an awesome place to live. Most of the things people against will report are just complete lies. They are just so completely ignorant. And Spicer has the nerve to compare it so the opiod and heroin epidemic, what a joke. It's not physically addicting, you can't overdose, and maybe if people could smoke pot more they wouldn't go do other drugs that are far more harmful. I bet the alcohol industry also lobbies for it, because people will drink less if they can smoke more
Here's an issue I disagree with Trump on. Marijuana is no worse than alcohol, and should be legal across the board. Cracking down on this just keeps it a black market product and keeps those smugglers in business.
This is the thing that (*)(*)(*)(*) me off the most about politicians. How many times have we heard about politicians taking a hard stance against an issue and they end up getting found out or indicted/get in trouble for partaking in the very issue that that they take up against? To many politicians have the view that what applies to the people, doesn't apply to "me". It's so funny watching all these politicians ducking these "town halls".citing everything from personal threats to not wanting to have a "moment that goes viral". "Do your #$%^ing job!" as one town haller, yells.... It's only been a few weeks and things are indeed in "chaos".
I don't have any use for weed. I do feel that it has negative environmental impact issues. We have had forest fires started because of clandestine growing operations, polluted runoff into our lakes and streams from fertilizer isn't good either. Hydroponic growing creates a lot of waste fluids that should be treated as hazardous but likely get dumped into the sewer or storm drain. If legalization solves this, I would support it.
That's only because when its illegal, its unregulated and people have to hide it. Then they have to protect it with guns because they are not protected by law. When it is legal, they are. They can call the cops if they are a robbed. This is what happens when you let criminals control the industry, you get shady things like this. it grows easily (hence the term weed), and actually hemp can be used to make many things. But other industries lobbied to kill it as it threatened their business.
You need to live near a mega pig or chicken farm like we do in western Ohio. I'll trade you any day of the week. I haven't smoked for years due to work rules. I turn 67 in 3 years and 2 months. At retirement, there will be no rules.
There's a pig farm next to the house I grew up in, a few miles away was a paper manufacturig planr. Boiling wood is worse than any farm.
It's based upon the same sort of theory as the narcotics acts. Add to that the fact it required a constitutional amendment to effect a total ban on alcohol and you have an answer: the underlying theory of the law/s reflects a gross overreach of government power.
Legalizing it under Federal law would REDUCE the federal taxes. They cant deduct operating expenses from Illegal enterprises. Pot businesses pay around 70% of REVENUE in federal tax.
Legally it's reduced crime in many a place. Law abiding people that smoke a plant are not labeled a criminal.
Yeah. Hopefully they don't follow through on this. Early 20's year old US Men 70+ years ago: Early 20 year olds today after turning child rearing over to the union left academics:
Sure: Violent crime rate per 100,000: Denver: 673.9 (pop. 682,000) Detroit: 1759.6 (pop. 673,000) Marijuana usage is frequent in both of those places, which have similar population. One glaring difference between the two is, it's LEGAL in Denver.
you can OD and black out and do crazy things with alchol.... not so with Marijuana on either count - - - Updated - - - imo, this will cement the deal that Trump is only a one term President
i dont think this will be a smart reverse in direction. while this may be a perogative for pres trump, petty issues like this, will most certainly derail his economic plans. it will take too many resources.
The sole purpose of pot is to be be in parred. It has no other purpose. The same can't be said for booze or tobacco - - - Updated - - - No, no, you can' go out and have a beer, or a glass of wine and be fine. Most people do go out and have a drink for the enjoyment of that. What are you trying to do when you hit up pot? You're trying to alter your reality. THat is the main difference.
Trump lied to get elected, said it should be a state issue
Well, with TrumpCo reinvigorating the use of private prisons those private prisons will need customers to be profitable.
