You say "to look beyond his persona & see what is really going on here", Oh, that's rich---There is an old saying that goes something like this " I know you [/B]think you understand what you thought I said, but, I'm not sure you realize what I thought I said is what I really meant" Yeah, I really do know what is going on here & that is why I am protesting---
You also say "why was trump elected"-Well, he wasn't as far as I'm concerned, he took away "our" choice in the election process by colluding with a foreign government & either hiring people or working with Russian hackers to hack voter election programs DRE's to skew the numbers for a certain win for him--

OK; so you are on here but not willing to discuss or exchange ideas, but merely to express a fixed stereotypical position.

Thanks for letting me know before I wasted more of my time attempting to actually communicate.

No, you were not discussing anything, You started off by saying "You don't really understand" that is not discussing ,that was an insult
You said "look beyond his persona & see what is really going on here",another insult---
So, yes, I would love to have an exchange of ideas & have an open dialogue of communication--
    A fixed stereotypical position---another insult---
Hate to burst your bubble, but,if I thought for one minute that trump won this election fairly or legally,I would accept it,I would not agree with his policies, but I would accept him as our POTUS----But,as it stands right now & since election day I have huge doubts, along with the FBI,millions of other Americans, members of,Congress & the Senate---
And if you care to have a rational discussion about those doubts, well then, here we go---balls in your court-----

I could see that the problem now Trump is facing are the promises he made during the elections which is somehow forced him to sail through violent seas of the tumultuous politics of the left and the right. He could not say it but he wanted everyone to rally behind him, he could not ask for it ironically for what he believe is the right thing to do are against with some politically provided felicities by which majority of the left enjoyed and vowed to defend. Trump sees some loopholes and extravagances made him to think that modifications and cutting edges needs to be done, but somehow in free and democratic world a president could not do what he wishes to do but it should tailored as per the peoples wish. It would be much easier for Trump if we do have an autocratic form of government which we are not. He is just a politician who promised so much and didn't know in the first place if he will be equipped later on to fulfill such promises. His gestures of criticizing the media and playing around with geopolitics and local politics will only aggravate his present position for the election is already over and what he should do is not to glamorize himself and his decision but serve in earnest all the US citizens regardless of political affiliations and it should not defy basic human rights considering that both the left and the right do avail with this basic fundamental right.
Trump is in a very awkward position right now like abolishing Obamacare without even in the first place considering a viable replacement after removal, building a wall which funding he proposed would be shouldered by the country whom the wall is made for, alternative facts, allege collusion with Russia, Attacks from the Dems, foreseen attacks from the GOP, and his anti social stance, but still as an elected President it is not yet too late for him to regain composure and his best resort as I could see it to serve the US the way it is as a free country to regain the peoples trust and in return the people would rally behind him and even defend him.

In “our” Congress we have the worst of two worlds: the republicans are both worthless and spineless. They have been so for almost a decade. They’re good only for collecting paychecks they don’t earn, and spending more time at home than in D.C. trying to govern.

republican congresswhores will only try to get off their knees if they see trump doing so much damage to this country that they get worried about their own political survival. Their own sorry @sses, that is the only thing those gutless wonders care about.

Have fun with that! Nobody cares what you guys think, and you've been reduced to a joke, but go on and hold him responsible.

Nobody cares, but... have at it, anyway.

So,I would agree with your position & the "opinion" of the author if i believed that trump is our duly elected POTUS--I don't-A foreign government has interfered with the sovereignty of our election process--it is remarkable to me that so many want to just ignore this fact & just move on--whether anyone wants to believe me about the election data programs being hacked into (even though the FBI has found that it has happened)& I know the numbers don't match up with our data collecting program (VAN) set up by OBAMA in his campaigns to pin point accuracy--
As far as understanding long term consequences ---It is pretty scary to me & millions of others---
trump surrounding himself with Generals or other military in his cabinet-----long term answer---they are warmongers-eventually we are going into yet another war we will put on the credit card--we are already racking up the debt by trump ordering pilots to fly as often as they want--
Immigration Ban---long term---we are a country of immigrants-trump can't pick & choose who comes into the United States---he will have a fight from now until doomsday & he will lose---
Women's rights---long term---We Women will not tolerate being pushed back with all the gains we have made to be equal---he will have perhaps the biggest fight on his hands with this issue & he will lose---
Civil rights---long term---trump has as his chief advisor Steve Bannon, that is well know for his alt right KKK connections---Do I have to even explain that one ----
EPA---long term---His EPA director has spent his lifetime suing the EPA---Does this need an explanation or can you close your eyes & see the issues that arise with this---
So, just a couple examples of how I see & understand long term consequences from this Fake POTUS & I haven't even mentioned Devos,Tillerman,Sessions or trumps taxes, nepotism, divesting his business ties, how much it is costing us taxpayers for him to have security for trump tower & Marilago, the post office rental------

So, by nobody, you mean you---I find it remarkable that you don't care that a foreign government intervened in the sovereignty of our election process--I can't think of anything more anti-American than that & you don't careabout that as long as your guy got in!!!---Heavy sigh---

As someone else in here has been pointing out in their sig, it makes little sense for a man of great wealth to become President in order to subvert the country. It's a matter of opinion, but many of us on the other side feel the same way regarding Obama and his very obvious facilitation of Muslim immigration at the expense of Mideastern Christians that were even more at risk. In addition, numerous Muslims with possible Muslim Brotherhood links became part of Obama's administration, even the secret services, and after the election three Muslims were found to be subverting the confidentiality of computer systems serving important Democrat Congressional representatives. All of those concerns have been brought up elsewhere in here.

I am making these points about Obama so you can compare your reaction to those with your reaction to the "Russia" claims against Trump. IMO the only difference is the extent to which the media has been yammering on to brainwash people about it.

IMO we had more of a chance of getting into a full scale war under Hillary, who is a recognized neocon. She was instrumental in triggering much of the chaos now going on in Libya, which seems to be what Benghazi was all about--apparently there was a gun running operation going on there into Libya.

I understand what you are saying about Trump's appointments, but the more disruption he is subjected to during the early days of his administration, the less able he will be to put in place those who will truly reveal his intent. Obama knuckled under quite early in the game, and it was reported in here he had defended this by pointing out, during a private dinner with supporters, that he did not want to experience what had happened to Kennedy.

I disagree with you regarding who can immigrate to this country. It had historically tended to be a very selective process, designed to admit only those who could make positive contributions to our country. More recently the sloppy monitoring of undocumented interlopers has led to many concerns adequately described in other threads. Additionally, although ability is important, so are core beliefs if they do not dovetail with those held by a free society.

In the business and land owning community, the EPA has been an object of hatred for years--it was even lampooned in the popular film Ghostbusters years ago. Apparently they have been extreme at times in their exercise of authority. In any case, through the results of an elective process, other voices will be listened to in Trump's administration, and it will be up to future administrations to tack back again if necessary.

I very much doubt that women's rights will be affected in any significant way, but frankly hope there will be a better balance in fairness to both sexes. It had reached the point that any malcontented or drunken, non-self-protective female could, in some instances, spuriously allege "sexual harassment" or even "rape" and ruin a man's college or business career. Additionally, if contraceptives were freely and universally available, it would not be necessary to have so many abortions--and I resent the Catholic Church's derailing attempts with that.

We depend a great deal on flight readiness of pilots for our safety; they can hardly be expected to be flight ready without practice. Since many of our civilian pilots first receive flight training in the military, IMO it is also for that reason false economy to deny military fliers necessary flight time.

Nepotism is an issue which usually centers on payment, and Trump is not himself taking a salary; not certain with the others. Considering what he is up against, I support his getting support and advice from wherever he can. I also feel that his trips to his "winter White House" are a necessary expense, in part because at present Trump continues to be surrounded in DC by people that are determined to see him fail, or possibly even attempt to kill him. The numerous people in opposition to Hillary that have fortuitously died has received scant attention from the media.

I have gone on record elsewhere in here in stating bluntly that how a population is treated will have something to do with their politics. The deprived white underclass does not profit from "white privilege," as they are completely cut off from that network. They know this and resent "Affirmative Action" because they are similarly deprived and given no help up at all. Trump is the only candidate that appears to offer hope to those people, and of course they would support him. If Obama was correct that terrorists will stop being terrorists if treated properly, why should that not be true for KKK members?

I really don't know much about Bannon, as I don't frequent that sort of site. My hope is that he is not a person that oversimplifies issues in a harmful way. However, if he does, Trump should soon--as soon as his opponents have left-- have access to more complete information now in his presidential role, and IMO it would only take a few wrong interpretations by Bannon to make him gone.

My viewpoints above could change as this administration progresses and there are developments that can be assessed, but not from the misinformation and blatant, excessive negative opinionating going on in our media presently. Those people are revealing themselves to be totally partisan almost every time they open their mouths. I assume you are aware it was made legal that our media propagandize not all that long ago?

The problem is the press lost it's credibility. First, by not being skeptical enough of the Obama admin. That's their job--to be skeptical. Second, by first helping Trump win the primary, and turning on him in the general. They should have been reporting some of this crap--like the Billy Bush grabbing by the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*) stuff during the primary. However, since they were in the tank for Obama, they conveniently left it in the vault until the general election.

The opposition party will have it's chance after 2018.

Well,ok,Wow-where to begin---my first instinct is to talk about your "Women" statement---"drunken or malcontented"",not be affected in any significant way"-Well, except for the fact that a very high percentage of Planned parenthood clinics have been closed, torched, vandalized & people murdered (Dr Tiller) or their life threatened---I would call that affected---
Here in Nevada in 2017, it is once again (4th time now)being brought up to our legislature this last week, the "ratification of the Women's rights bill"----- One of the GOP opposition says time has expired ( 1982) & it needs to begin the process all over again--Thank goodness for OBAMA signing into law the Lilly Ledbetter Act---as hard as it is to get the 30 States ratification to Women's rights in the Constitution---
Can't believe you used "drunken & malcontent Women" as an argument---I would then say sexist much!!!!
I disagree with so many of your opinions, I might address some in coming posts,However,I need to cool off after reading your low opinion of women & our rights not being affected----WOW----

It does. I wish that Democrats would remember that when they are in power. Unfortunately, they only beleive that when they are not in power.

Women's issues are not a central concern of Trump's but he placated the Evangelicals by his choice of Pence. Best way to achieve your goals on that is to see Trump says healthy and well so Pence doesn't replace him.

I happen to know plenty of women that realize it is not wise to attend a frat party alone and get drunk. In certain quarters it is considered "asking for it".

So, you go back & read every post I posted---I did not say the "machines"-----I said the polling data ------ the computer program that counts the votes ---Here is a direct quote from the FBI report (for those that don't feel a need to go read it) " Then whatever numbers the voting computer says at the close of the polls "ARE" completely under the control of the computer program in there, If the computer is hacked, then the hacker gets to decide what numbers are reported"

The free press has an agenda along with the fringe of Liberals to destroy Trump. They aren't alone --- Republicans like McCain who are deeply invested in the establishment are guilty as well. To wit: The contents of a dossier containing allegations of lude behavior by Trump was floating around Washington for months without being successfully validated despite all efforts. McCain used taxpayer money to personally retrieve it and deliver it to Comey ,,, who, BTW, already had it. Despite knowing that it was false, CNN reported the contents as though it was news.

The opposition party has broken all records in stalling the confirmation of Trump's cabinet in order to undermine the administration. Even Hillary was confirmed as Secretary of State the day after Obama's Inauguration, on January 21, 2009. You might recall that the Clintons and DNC were fined $719,000 by the FEC for funding their 1996 campaign by peddling influence to China, Korea, Canada and other countries. Compare that to Tillerson. Republicans accepted the peoples' choice and gave Obama the tools he needed to be successful, starting with a cabinet. Not so with the Democrats.

He is doing exactly what his supporters want him to do, starting with enforcing laws that are on the books. Thankfully, he is starting to enforce the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act that was passed by 52 Democrat Senators and 202 Democrat Representatives, and was signed into law by a Democrat President.

What laws has Congress passed that you're concerned about?

The judiciary more than checked the power of the President. Instead of ruling on the Presidential power to ban travel by proclamation --- which is in black and white in the law, they ruled on a stay to avoid affirming the Presidential power.

5 of the 6 richest counties in the country surround the DC Beltway. Lobbyists, contractors, un-elected bureaucrats, and the media have commandeered the country for their own purposes. Agencies like the EPA have gobbled up regulatory territory well beyond the intent of their formation. Nixon formed the EPA. Think he believed the federal government should be regulating water troughs on our farms?

Think the founders thought the Federal Government should be acting as the bathroom and locker room monitor in our schools?

Getting the spin .... yeah we are ALL getting the spin. It is that "free" press that has become so partisan it has driven we the people into a us vs them mentality. We are moving toward 2 Americas. One could compare to the Shia/Sunni rivalry. You decry a Sean Hannity network and yet i bet you would welcome a Rachel Maddow network.

We either sit down shut up and listen to what the other guy has to say, find common ground and compromise or we declare the American experiment a failure and break it up in an "somewhat" orderly fashion before it is too late.
