It is a drastic drop in morality. The Democratic side has none...so to get a conservative elected...they have to sell their soul to the devil, to evil. Normal is not killing a child in the womb at nine months and that is what the Democratic side says. Normal ....today is someone who has no morals....the people who voted for Obama.

Today college professors for the most part are liberal moral relativists. They have no morals and think there is no difference between right and wrong. They don't teach responsibility...they preach and brainwash kids into believing their worldview. They do not teach kids how to think....they teach them what to think. Kids don't see the entire picture...only the ideology of the professor.

I think that we send people to college before they know who they are, what they like, and what they want to do. The people that already know these answers going into college seem to have no problem succeeding. But the people that are forced to go 'for the experience' or because 'it's what you're supposed to do' don't always see a benefit right away. But there's no doubt that in the long run it is a benefit. The data supports that.

Well, some of it comes down to common sense.

If you pursue an Art History degree, you should know that you're aiming for something unemployable.

There's a reason why people who get educated become more liberal. One reason, is they stop believing in all these fairy tales.

No, they lose whatever good things their parents instilled in them...morality. They take on the coat of socialism, forcing people to believe one way. They learn intolerance and indifference. They become narcissistic and mean and cold. They champion such things as redistribution and abortion. Liberalism like one author called it is a mentally disease. It is a world like the world in a Brave New World...devoid of goodness and virtue...and love.

I think it is incorrect to cast a net over all colleges. Some do a great job getting students ready for certain careers and others do a horrible job. They are all over the board. My wife hires interns and teaches them more in 2 months than the college did in 3 years. It is pathetic, but they are coming from the same college that does a horrible job in this particular career. Also College provides a social experience and a piece of paper that can outweigh the education received.

I watch Khan Academy when I need to brush up on my math. I think Khan and Bill gates have some good ideas about the future of education.

Giving loans to a mass of idiots so they can go study useless garbage, does nothing but drive up the costs for the real students.

Khan Academy is great! So is MIT's Online CourseWare (OCW) courses. Stanford has some great advanced science courses, as does Berkeley and many others - particularly those coming out of India's technical universities - ALL FREE.

Foundations of Modern Physics featuring Stanford's Leonard Susskind is a dream come true (I'm a math/physics nut ).

See FreeVideoLectures.com for a huge assortment of video full courses.

I love the internet!!! You can learn ANYTHING!

Most professors are liberal. You have to be in a real world in order to teach another how to be in it as well.

"idiots" might be a little harsh i agree, but then again, they are spending a whole lot of money for nothing.

I love how it's always the people who do not have an education weighing in with their opinion on education. Kind of ironic, lol. Stats don't lie, education pays...

Blue collar professions are either going to illegals or aging, like many other professions. There are other blue collar jobs that are in growing industries, such as people who work on fracking rigs or solar panel installers. These are also good, middle class jobs. The problem is that they're only offering training in these at community colleges. We need monitored apprenticeships at high schools for employers needing people to work these jobs.

I don't know if you noticed the little child hellhounds running around nowadays, but parents aren't teaching their children anything on how to behave and why. When I was a kid and I misbehaved, my mom asked, "Would you like to go to the bathroom?" implying I would get my little butt whooped. Nowadays you can't do that. Butt whoopins are the basis of learning consequences.
