This is an unsupportable assertion. The second amendment was meant to guarantee that citizens would not be stripped of their power to resist tyranny. There's nothing patriotic about stripping the right of the people to keep the means of resistance at their disposal. Apparently, to Sanjay, it's patriotic to leave guns only on in the hands of the state enforcers, who, apparently, being gifted with magical badges, will use them wisely and with restraint and only when government orders are righteous and just. There is a cost to liberty, and the liberal progressives would rather we submit to the depredations of the state, which kills far more innocent and peaceful people every day than lone gunmen ever will, than to pay the price to remain free.

I agree with his view on "absolutists", but other than that, I get the impression he doesn't know much about guns. People hear words like "assault rifle" or "military weapon" and freak out. The only ban I can somewhat sympathize with is the one on automatic weapons, but again, it's not that hard to modify most semi-auto weapons to be full auto. So that ban is very limited in its usefulness as well.

What the heck is military grade? Who talks like that? I guess the same people who think shaving a firing pin will make it full auto. I am not an expert on being an unarmed civilian, that would be stupid to try something like that, but if you were unarmed I would recommend that you get on the floor and beg for your life. The second amendment is in the Constitution to guarantee the citizens the right to overthrow a tyrannical Government (Obama) should one ever get in power. What part of that don't you understand? Bear in mind it pertains to liberals too in case a conservative Government decides to do the same.
