When I look at an old woman who has been betrayed by her husband, I do not think about how ugly she is, nor do I take pleasure in attacking her physical appearance. There does seem to exist, a sad state of affairs for men in the US. I certainly have a moralistic sense of marriage which traditionally means staying faithful till death do you part. However, in the traditional sense, marriage is dead in America. In the 50's and earlier, marriage was an equal partnership of roles that both parents shared. Those roles, if carried out properly and in unison, raised a healthy family that would contribute to society. Today, we see an erosion of those roles. Many have dissapeared completely. Such as the nourturing mother who raises the kids and maintains the household. The womens liberation movement was mean to protest against the suposid servitude women lived in. I understand the want to be equal, but in the process, who looses out? If, perhaps, women would accept a reversal of roles, where the male stays home and raises the kids while she works, that would work. But instead, we have women joining the workforce in droves. Many of which, still expect the man they choose to be the breadwinner. So what are the children to do now that both parents are busy chasing their dreams of materialistic wealth? They are forced to make sense of the world on their own, or even worse, by the hand of someone other than their parents. Parents, are more than ever, no more than legal gaurdians while the system raises their children. That is, if the children are lucky enough to have both parents anymore. Women initiate divorce at a 60% rate in comparisson to men. Which tells an interesting story. Over the last 3 decades, our culture has changed to one of the disposable male. There really is no reason for a woman to try and work things out, especially, when the "grass is green on the other side" male is waiting just around the corner, whispering everything she wants to hear into her ear. It really is sad, and it all started with the liberation movement. Equality, I get. But today, American society is a female run society. We can see this thru our massive amount of raising debt, entitlement programs and constant emotional rhetoric that graces thru our media.

That seems to be another issue with women in America. Not all, but many, are under the impression that once they get married, they can stop taking care of themselves. Then expect their husbands to ravish them in bed.... The, accept me for who I am crowd are responsible for this rediculousness. When your partner is no longer physically attractive to you, or even worse, physically repulsive, what are you to do?
