From what I saw of Ryan in the past, he's a rigid ideologue. Such people can be a horrendous problem when it comes to fashioning programs that can grind real people up. Trump probably found him unworkable.

Trump indicated in his campaign the direction that he wanted to go, but gave few specifics. Consequently, he has a lot of leeway in choosing the route to his goals.

I'm not sure this will end well for him. Have you seen the movie "Saving Private Ryan?" Trump will just move on to another platoon and write off Private Ryan.

Well I cannot leave now, because I swore an oath to guard the bunker to the last, and burn the body before the Russians get here.

So, according to you, Trump fans are doing the same thing Trump is doing, attacking the Republican Party. You are all but admitting Trump fans are now Democrats. Is that True? You talk like it is.

You are right. Trump is not a Republican. He never was. He is a Democrat, a liberal. By supporting Trump now, you have become a liberal.

Hey, you can call Trump a green fire breathing pony, for all I care. As long as the President does what he said he was going to do during the campaign, I'm happy. If he secures the southern border, he can be a Dem. If he gets the economy going, he can be a Dem. If he keeps jobs from leaving the country, he can be a Dem. If he appoints solid justices like Neil Gorsuch, he can be a Dem. If he overhauls the tax system, he can be a Dem. If he gets rid of the crappy Obamacare system and replaces it with something reasonable, he can be a Dem. Whether the man has an R or a D next to his name, that's the kind of partisan BS that people are getting tired of putting up with. Is that true? Yup, that's absolutely true.

This is really strange. Seth, you are not alone among Trump supporters for attacking Republicans. I just don't get it.

Trump supporters voted Republican. Republicans got control of the Senate, the House, and the Oval Office. 34 state houses are now in Republican hands.

All of a sudden, in the past week or two, Trump supporters are attacking the Republican Party. All of a sudden, for all intents and purposes, Trump supporters are acting like Democrats. Their hero is coddling up to Democrats, and so are they.

They say it is all in the spirit of bipartisanship. Attacking one's own party is not bipartisanship. Of course, in this case, that is assuming one isn't a Democrat.

But, Trump supporters are now Democrats.

Well if it makes you feel any better, there are plenty of things to attack Democrats over, and I do attack them on this forum.

What I think you're seeing from Trump supporters when they criticize the Republicans is honesty, Sandy.

And I want you to listen to this, Sandy, and try to really get it. Trump's election by rank and file Republicans and Independents was not a vote of support for the Republican Party. It was a revolt against the Party, and the Party did everything in its power to defeat Trump. And to this day, there are Republicans in Congress who are still trying to sabotage Trump's presidency.

So quit acting so shocked and outraged that Trump is talking to and working with the Democrats. Democrats are Americans, Sandy. And Trump supporters elected him to get things done.

Donald Trump is the President of the United States of America, Sandy. He is not President of the Ruling Party of America.

I don't think you would have minded if a nice homogenized, status quo Republican president like Jeb Bush was working with both parties where he could. You would probably compliment him for his statesmanship.

    You just can't stand Trump.

Au contraire, I understand your explanation. You are unwilling to accept the consequences of your explanations. You have said that Trump's actions are an example of bipartisanship. It is not bipartisanship when Trump acts against the policies of his own party.

Trump had dinner Wednesday evening with his new best Beltway pals — Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his counterpart in the House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, “Chuck and Nancy,” as the president referred to them after cutting a deal for Hurricane Harvey aid and government spending. No Republicans were invited.

"Trump stunned fellow Republicans by agreeing to Democrats short-term debt extension last week, with many saying they were furious over the move as well as his ongoing public criticism of GOP lawmakers."

    http://nypost.com/2017/09/13/trump-to-dine-with-new-pals-pelosi-and-schumer/

You have said that what Trump is doing is getting things accomplished. I agree. He is working with Democrats to accomplish his goals.

He has adopted the liberal view on transgenders in the military, freezing his own ban.

He has adopted the liberal view on the Dreamers. He wants Congress to make them legal.

He adopted the liberal view on the debt limit and keeping the government open.

He adopted the liberal view on the debt limit. He wants to abolish it.

He adopted the liberal view on tax reform. He no longer supports a tax cut for the rich. In fact, they could pay more.

You and I agree on Trump finally being able to accomplish something. However, you are avoiding the consequences of his new-found accomplishments. Trump has become a liberal. Thus, you have liberal tendencies for supporting him. Trump fans who continue to support are now suddenly Democrats.

Those are the consequences of supporting Trump's liberal tendencies.

It was conclusively shown by someone else in this Forum that Democrats are no longer liberals. The party has been taken over by progressive Marxists. leaving true liberals adrift.

The Republicans, on the other hand, have been taken over by extremists representing corporations that no longer represent the best interests of the USA.

Trump is forming a new coalition--or, it could be said, the new coalition of moderates has taken over Trump...ie, chosen him as the point of power around which to coalesce. He is a catalyst. Look up what a catalyst is. It enhances processes but does not become a part of them.

Your steadfast attempts at splitting are quite determined, though. IMO that should be well compensated. There's certainly enough Soros money in the till to take care of hard workers like you.

Liberals are decent people that want fairness for everyone.

Progressive Marxists are people that misuse liberal issues to create division and dissent within a society to destabilize it in order to achieve other, more sinister ends.

Trump met with both sides separately and then made a choice as to how to proceed at this point.

Your cabal's labeling is no longer an effective ruse. Most of us are onto it now.

Additionally, "liberal" is not a dirty word, once one realizes that the real problem is progressive Marxists misusing liberal issues to cause trouble...as you yourself seem to be doing. Having fun with dialectics, are you?

The "dysfunctional bozos" would be the Republican Party. Spoken like a true Democrat. You just won't admit it.

You keep missing the point. I knew months ago that Trump is not a Republican. I have said it several times on this thread.

The point you are avoiding is, where does all this place Trump's supporters? Where does it place you? Since you are supporting a liberal, it follows that you have liberal tendencies, and so do Trump's supporters, the ones that are left, that is.

    Don't you agree?

    You are misrepresenting things.
    1. Many Trump supporters voted for Trump. They did not vote Republican.
    2. Folks expected Republicans to be true to their word about wanting to repeal and replace Obamacare. Of course, that didn't happen.
    3. Trump supporters are not attacking the Republican party, they are attacking the weasel politicians who have been saying for over seven years now that they were in favor of repealing/replacing Obamacare. Those same politicians managed to provide a bill to President Obama for his veto; now that they have someone in the Oval Office that will sign such a bill, all of a sudden for some reason it's impossible to get something to his desk. That's what President Trump and his supporters are upset about.
    4. According to the entrenched politicians (and people like you who have bought into their nonsense), people need to be happy that "their" party is in control of things. Well guess what? When a party is in control of things, they're able to get things done for the people who elected them into office. Has that been happening? No way, no how. And now that people are getting upset with the situation and looking for alternate ways of making headway on specific issues, it's wrong to be thinking in terms of working with members of the other party? Why is that? Dems apparently are much better at moving in lockstep with the leadership of their beloved party. For Trump supporters, that's just the usual politics, which is one big reason for Trump getting elected in the first place.
    5. If Democrats are now embracing President Trump's agenda, Trump supporters would be happy to now be considered Democrats. If not, you're up to your old fun and games.
    That's my take. YMMV.

Seth, the people who for Trump also voted for members of the Senate, House, state houses, and state legislature. The Republican Party swept the Senate, House, 34 state houses, and over 30 state legislatures.

And now you are telling me that Trump voters were in revolt against the Republican Party. That makes no sense. What does make sense is that people voted for Trump based on what he stood for in the campaign, conservative principles and American First nationalism. What makes sense is that Trump changed his mind. He now has liberal tendencies and a globalist view of the world. A nationalist President would not be speaking to the U.N. General Assembly.

Seth, don't read just my responses to you. Read my other posts. I don't think you are aware of Trump's liberal conversion.

I am not shocked and outraged at Trump's liberal tendencies. I talked about him being a Democrat during the election campaign. I am amused at all those Trump fans who previously blasted liberal, lefties, and Democrats only to find they are now supporting a liberal. Those fans he has left, that is.

Yes, I would, and I would congratulate Trump, too, if he forgot all his bigoted remarks he made during the campaign (review the OP) and turned out to be a statesman, working hand and hand with both parties. That is not what he is doing (read my other posts). You said it yourself. "It [vote for Trump] was a revolt against the [Republican] Party, and the Party did everything in its power to defeat Trump."

That is hardly an example of "working with both parties where he could."

Seth, you are now supporting a liberal. That makes you a liberal, right? That's okay. Liberals are people, too.
