Run the oven on propane of natural gas.

 

My mother replaced an electric water heater with a propane tankless. JUST the reduction in electric bills (almost half!) paid for the new heater in less than a year. Bonus: no more running out of hot water halfway through a shower because someone decided to run the dishwasher or do laundry. My only complaint is that the way it is installed (a quirk in her house's layout meant it had to be installed right next to the bathroom, separated only by a non-load-bearing wall) results in a very noticeable humming sound (presumably, the fan) as it runs.

 

My mother uses one with very hard well water...all that is needed is a good filtration system.

 

I am constantly amazed that people swallow the environmental bull the dems spout. They are not putting regulations to control or make pollution better on the coal industry, they are making them impossible and so fast that they are forcing coal completely out and raising our electricity cost astronomically for the near future. Not to mention that they will have shortages trying to keep up with the electricity demand without coal...then they can regulate what you use, or tax you for excess, who knows? We live in coal country, beautiful mounains, clean air, lakes and streams, abundant wildlife country where we've mined coal for 100's of years, I have never been anywhere that is literally "greener", so I am amazed when someone from New York or D.C. comes here to protest OUR pollution...guess they've done paved over their trees and lakes with parking lots and have nothing left to save! If the government was worried about you getting lung cancer, they would have outlawed smoking first??? No, they are out to control the energy, and everything else we have and do....it's scary what the dem "green" supporters will swallow....Obama wants to cut our energy dependance on other countries by forcing out all our domestic energy sources?????? It's insanity.
