In a typical Leftninny "Hypocrisy As An Artform" move, Pres.Teleprompter has announced the forming of a so-called "super PAC", for his own political purposes, after so publicly decrying the formation of exactly the same thing...for OTHER people: Senior Obama campaign officials defend presidentÂ’s embrace of super PAC When the Supreme Court ruled in 2010 that private organizations, including corporations and unions, could spend unlimited amounts of money on political speech, President Obama decried the decision, warning that it amounted to a "threat to our democracy." Two years later, the Obama campaign has announced that with the president's blessing, it will support a pro-Obama super PAC--a creation of that very ruling--to receive unlimited donations from individuals, corporations and unions for the 2012 presidential campaign. "We made a decision, announced last night, that we're not going to allow for two sets of rules this election," a senior campaign official said during a conference call with reporters Tuesday. "A half billion dollars spent against the president's re-election by Republican super PACs is not something that we take lightly, and it ultimately led to our decision that we're not going to unilaterally disarm in this fight. Our message remains the same in terms of the type of things we're fighting for." "The president did sign off on this decision," the official, who asked to remain anonymous, said. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/...defend-obama-embrace-super-pac-170915760.html So as we all see, Obama's "outrage" with the USSC allowing such PACS is the same as his "outrage" at "big money controlling elections"...after having spent the most money EVER, by ANY CANDIDATE, ANYWHERE, HIMSELF, or by his "outrage" at "corporate money in elections", while having no problem taking $millions of it himself, along with union and lawyer group monies, as wel, or when ,after promising to use ONLY PUBLIC FUNDS, rolleyes, he completely reversed that lie, and spent the most money in history for an election. Apparently, the only "problem" with Big Money and elections,is if someone besides the Sleazocrats gets some....
I'd agree but sometimes you have to fight fire with fire. Super Pacs are really screwed up and they're so powerful it might take Super Pacs to take them down.
Barack Obama is the only major party candidate running for president who opted out of public financing. Care to discuss that?
You're correct. But, faced with the damaging effect of the GOP's superpacs. . .there was no way he could fight for reelection without playing their game! It's too bad, but what do you want. . .it's "hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys!" Obama did the right thing by allowing a superpac to work in his favor. I guess there aren't too many way to fight a corrupted system, especially if the corruption itself is "legalized by the highest court in the land!" and he certainly wasn't going to give up without a fight!
I'd rather he go back on a pledge to not take superpac money than sit back on his heels and allow the election to be overwhelmed by the right-wing.
Wasn't planing to, but watching the Leftninnies desperately try to pretend that the glaring hypocrisy of the move isn't apparent, is very entertaining, as well.
A distinction without a difference... From the OP link: "The president did sign off on this decision," the official, who asked to remain anonymous, said. Nic,e desperate attempt to obsfuscate the blatant hypocrisy of your position, and candidate.
What a crock of Leftninny bullcrap; it was OBAMA who opted out of public campaign finance, and then spent the most money in history on an election campaign, not a republican....try facing the ACTUAL FACTS, instead of Lweftninny nonsense.
Sorry, but it was OBAMA who oipted out of public campaign financing, and spent the most money in history on an election campaign, not a republican. Just in case you'd like to try the ACTUAL TRUTH, for a change of pace...
"It's the Republican's fault" that Obama continues to lie nonstop about campaign money, even after spending the MOST IN HISTORY. Hilarious how the Leftninny Doofi have to keep pretending that it's "someone else" who bailed on public campaign finance, and set the spending record....
Don't hate the player. Hate the game. Obama is doing what he must to survive. And I do want him to survive. Obama doesn't make the rules in this situation.
Talking big doesn't make your pathetic republican candidates any more electable. Polls show Obama wiping the floor with this opposition. Including Romney, Newt and Ron Paul
Don't hate the lie; hate the Liar. That would be Obama...again, per usual, wouldn't it? Now, WHY did he eschew public campaing finance, since he's "so against": Big Money 9in elections and all?
"Polls" also showed Mondale "wiping the floor" with Reagan, as well. The ONLY POLL that matters is this November...and a state-by-state shows an obvious LANDSLIDE defeat for Michell Attoinette's prevaricous husband...
Read the OP. I'm not interested in Leftninny "Word Dance". He called them a "threat to our democracy" , or some such crap, and then proceeded to start his own "threat to our democracy"...was he lying, just an idiot, or is he trying to "threaten our democracy"? PLease spare us the " what is the meaning of 'is' ", bullcrap you are obviously trying to deflect the debate to; we aren't that gullible.
And if he refused to form one the Conservatives would have been laughing while millions upon millions of dollars pour into their own Super-Pacs. It is not hypocrissy. It is deciding to play the game by the rules established by a conservative Supreme Court.
No one was "laughing" when he became the first presidential candidate in HISTORY to eschew public campaign finance, after which he SPENT THE MOST MONEY IN US HISTORY ON AN ELECTION, were they? It IS hypocrisy to declare such PACs as a "threat to our democracy", and then proceed to form one for oneself. Period. It is ALSO hypocrisy to constantly declare opposition to Big Money in Politics, while simultaneoously DEFINING "Big Money in Politics", with his OWN CAMPAIGN(s). He spent the MOST MONEY IN HISTORY on his election...remember? He has also spent THE MOST MONEY IN HISTORY SINCE his election...picking up the pattern yet?
It is what we have come to expect. he says one thing, yells at others for doing it, than does it himself.
No doubt about it; and the Leftninny Gaggle of Doofi is so conditioned to his bullcrap, that they joyfully accept and defend it as a matter of course.
