An op about DOJ's first sedition charge is a logical thing to post about on this forum, insofar as debating whether or not it was inspired by Trump.

We do care about rioting, but this is about sedition.

    Big difference.

Who incited these riots? I didn't see any Biden/Democrat banners amongst the vandals and looters.

According to his lawyer, the charges arent based on any new information, but only cite the same stuff the FBI had several months ago when Rhodes voluntarily sat down with them to answer questions.

If true, then either they're holding back evidense to sabotage Rhodes ability to argue for bail, or they dont have any more to go on than they did months ago, and if thats the case, then the FBI is just caving to political pressure to charge somebody, anybody with a grand conspiracy to keep the narrative spinning.

Unless the FBI unveils some new evidense at Rhodes' preliminary hearing (which would mean they ARE trying to sabotage his opportunity for bail), then expect this case to be a dud. Perhaps a very showy dud with lots of media coverage and political grandstanding, but a dud nonetheless.

For a minute there I thought you were talking about Hillary.

    Hillary's career

Yes I think Trump has to take some responsibility for this. Not for his long speech just before they invaded the Capital, but for what he said previously. These people had already made plans to do what they did. I'm not sure what percent to say he was guilty of, because I know if the FBI informed the Capital Police of information they had on planned gang disturbance and excepted the National Guard, this would have never happened and I heard the Capital Police turned down the Guard twice. They should have known like Trump should have known that a crowd this big could cause some real trouble. The Mayor of DC realized it and asked for the guard and this whole crowd was heading to the Capital to protest. Why would they turn down the Guard? Did Pelosi tell them to, hoping something big would happen and they could put the blame on Trump? That's about the only thing that makes sense of them turning the Guard down.

None of whom are responsible for the oath keepers are members of the oath keepers or are responsible for the actions of the oath keepers. The primary guy they're charging wasn't at the capital. He is a retired disabled navy commander. By the way where the hell does the government get the right to hold people in jail in some cases for more than a year without bail and without trial?

Firstly, shocking as you may find it you don't actually have to be physically located at the scene of a crime to be involved in it. The name Bin Laden comes to mind for some reason. Secondly the Government has no such 'right'. The accused can ask for bail via his attorney and the State can oppose it via theirs. The decision regarding bail is made by the presiding judge or in some cases later by the judge of an appellant court.

Once that decision is made however the length of time an accused spends in jail is entirely down to the legal system and how long their case takes to get to trial i.e. not the 'Government' unless you wish to pay higher taxes so that the courts are better resourced and can progress trials more quickly. (Entirely up to you of course.)

Justice delayed is justice denied. Very few of these charges should have resulted in anything more than a fine. And please they seemed to have processed the crimes done by the rioters at the Whitehouse the proceeding summer quite quickly indeed.

Actually the government IS required to charge someone with in a certain time period when putting someone in jail. (think its either 48 hours or 72 hours). After that if they are charged then the federal government again has a time limit before a trial must convene, with SOME exceptions. I'd suggest reading this:

    LINK: 18 U.S. Code § 3161 - Time limits and exclusions | U.S. Code | US Law | LII / Legal Information Institute (cornell.edu)

Also per the 6th Amendment of the Constitution people have a Right to a Speedy Trial. Unless they voluntarily waive it that is.

What happened at the Capital building wasn't done in defense of liberty because liberty was never under attack. The people there might have thought that was the case, but it doesn't matter. Doing something stupid even if you believed it was smart does not change the actual deed from stupid to smart. Folks who decided to trust a chronic liar like Trump and those who supported his election fraud ego defense had plenty of opportunities to exercise even a modicum of judgment on the credibility of the folks feeding them the fake narratives. They are responsible for what they've done and no turn-of-phrase changes that.

Yeah, only way would be through the inner circle but them his supporters would want to hear him give the clearest and most direct and corrupt orders.

I remember reading somewhere that one of Crooked Donnie's role models was a NY mafia don who acted crazy as in looney and used the "I am a nut and should be institutionalized" defense. I even think it was successful for a time period?

Loller seditious conspiracy could have been handed down to these people without Jan 6. Seditious conspiracy can simply mean conspiring to overthrow the government.

Nevertheless I look forward to seeing the evidence.

Also I look forward to when the Justice department is going to hit the Chaz protestors with seditious conspiracy since they ACTUALLY took over a part of the us mainland.

But you and I both know that will never happen don’t we.

I wouldn't expect anything less from the DOJ these days, who wade hip deep into their political oppression. I expect this is likely a crib from some old soviet era purge. The government seems willing to exercise their full might against the people. What a dangerous precedent this sets.

And you know who the DOJ have yet to hold responsible in any real way? Their pet rioters. BLM/ANTIFA. Where are those indictments?

Tucker Carlson points out that Tim McVeigh killed around 200 people bombing an government building and got the death penalty. Done. No need for this kind of heavy handedness.

So......wait.........let me read your post again. Yup, you've got nothing. What the Oath Keepers did was the textbook definition of sedition. Have you read the statute and the indictment? How about you stop stamping your feet with ludicrous "old Soviet era purge" analogies and inform yourself.

Is it? You're making a lot of assumptions that discovery is going to have to actually provide evidence and proof of. I know, Pravda told you these things. But you know, when the Democrats are now on record attempting to blow up the Senate to force mass voter fraud to destroy the nation, those oath keepers you're terrified of don't seem to hold a candle to what the national democratic party are doing. You should remember that.

Just this once what if you were to come at this from an informed perspective. https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/lead...dicted-federal-court-seditious-conspiracy-and

However, I will say charges like these have historically been very hard to get convictions on.

On that you're correct. Democrats using their federal agencies as political payback though, that has to charged. The abuse of power democrats seem to thrive on has to end. It's tearing the nation apart. For the greed of the plantation.

LOL... Don't try to sugar coat it LA.... When democrats routinely run to Garland to attack their political opponents, that's just the next chapter in a long book of democrats using the agencies to attack others who threaten democrats. And isn't that all that really matters to democrats? Protecting themselves at the cost of a nation?

I hesitate to post this for you for fear you're going to have an apoplectic fit but..........

Perhaps you should get some friends together and head off to main Justice so you can hang Merrick Garland as an ode to the Capital rioters.

Get your pitchforks ready, dude. Or perhaps you think the authorities should look the other way when fake elector documents are sent to the National Archives to defraud the voters or plans to steal the election are hatched by a bunch of nitwits in camo outfits. Wait, of course you do.

I find it odd that no liberal has commented on this. Because if the FBI had informed them, the Capital would never been breached
