I haven't referred to monopoly. You have. I referred to monopoly power. Chalk it up to another economic term you don't understand.

Name the corporation and you have monopoly power! As I said, you don't understand basic economics. Except in the case of monopolistic competition (where we just have branding), market power will ensure rent.

You want to reject modern economics now do you? You're going to have to do that to reject my comment. Good luck.

I wonder whether neoliberalism has been enabled in the US because of a lack of understanding of basic economics?

It appears that you have the same intolerance you are accusing them of.

Africans and Middle Easterners are coming here now, but we whites have been colonizing and enslaving them and pillaging their countries natural resources for hundreds and in some cases thousands of years.

Hell. I haven’t done anything to anyone. Well, I did give a pretty girl, roses. Still do as a matter of fact. But colonizing, pillaging, and enslaving? Nah. Nope. Not me—I’m too busy earning a living and enjoying the fruits of capitalism... and the steaks, and the cruises, and the jet flights, and the cars... Hell. Just about everything. Thanks Mr. Capitalist. And for my sake, don’t stop.

There's room for all of us, only if you stop smuggling more people in.

Why do you let your intolerance of certain groups drive you to cut your own throat?

How would you implement your grand vision?

Without returning to a stone-age society, that is.

Protect property rights. Actually do it, rather than play lip service.

    Inane effort.

"Protect property rights. Actually do it, rather than play lip service."

How would just this one simple act eliminate all rent-seeking, unearned profits?

    "Inane effort."

    You got nothing?

In the idyllic world without rent-seeking, corporations would cease to exist. After all, a single penny obtained out of the labors of a single employee, must be rent. The employer certainly didn't earn it.

Because protection of property rights, here the elimination of market rend, automatically eliminates property right.

Oh sorry, forgot to say "well done for using italics"

Naff all comment. For example, I haven't referred to perfect competition. I've merely referred to the celebration of economic rent by people who have no understanding of what they cheer.

That screed was mindlessly filled with copious amounts of White hatred, bigotry against the south, and racism and such stuff that it is awesome that a leftist would spout such garbage and/or that other leftists -- no doubt lacking even a hint of self-awareness -- would eagerly endorse the same. Thanks for revealing so very much about the typical modern leftist. Very nice. Well done! :applause::applause::applause:

I have no clue what you are saying.

A wild guess is: Protecting property rights keeps markets intact; thus, eliminates property rights.

"Oh sorry, forgot to say "well done for using italics"

    I'm glad that it's useful.

"Naff all comment. For example, I haven't referred to perfect competition. I've merely referred to the celebration of economic rent by people who have no understanding of what they cheer."

    I'll be retiring soon.

I'm glad to have all of that rent stored up to live off of.

    Actually, no.

I simply wanted an answer to a simple question.

How would you implement your idyllic rent-seeking-free society?

You answered to the effect: Implement a total protection of private property rights.

I then asked how this would eliminate rent-seeking.

I couldn't decipher your answer and hoped you might offer some clarity.

To which you offered the completely unhelpful non-sequitur quoted above.

Pushing racism against whites is pretty disgusting. Before the Civil Rights act democrats wanted a "modern America" where slavery was brought back.

Thanks! That is an actual answer. Yay!

Maybe you're used to posting your preferred economic system. I haven't really followed your posting history. I don't recall having ever seen a post proclaiming your preference for that system.

Depending on the implementation, it could be a big improvement over what we have; in many ways. It wouldn't fix all of our problems, though. For example: it wouldn't eliminate the drive for power that too many people succumb to.

You ever hear of WinCo foods, or Publix markets? What do you think of them?

They're employee-owned grocery chains. The employees are happy.

And all other businesses as well. No matter how much money they extort from those making money it will never be enough to satisfy there lust for wealth and power.

    No italics? Shocking!

You do type a lot to say nothing.

No relevant critique of market socialism.

    Provide an argument.
