In Buddhism your asked to always challenge this thing called faith.

it has to be more than how you describe it.

doubt is healthy and unavoidable.

at least in buddhism there is always an answer, you might not like it but there is one.

It's the same with the Kaballah and Holy Alchemy that the Master Jesus Christ knew and understood.

unfortunately His teachings were destroyed.

You don't understand the Christians faith. We are not in doubt. We know. Our faith is not blind. We know Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Saviour.

You don't know or believe it. The doubt is with you. Not us.

Stick with your Buddhism and remain in your doubts. We will knowingly be with Christ.

The Kaballah and Holy Alchemy are not of God or Christ.

Obviously you didn't leave your brain at the door because you don't have any disconnect between science and faith...

But for some literalism is offf putting because its not just a story of miracles and the parting of the seas or wandering the desert for 40 years.. It has layers of meanings which makes us revisit the story again and again.

Did that make any sense?

Unfortunately ignorance seems to be the rule of the day.

Was Jesus a Rabbi and well versed in all things Jewish.

then he would have studied the Kabballah, and also know and believe like all orthodox and train Jews know, that reincarnation is reality.

You think you know...you show yourselves over and over to know squat.

I love Master Jesus and respect Him enough to know what He really was and is all about.

now go back to that hole in the sand and stick your head in.

You have not a clue as to what God is or of true Sons and Daughters of God

It is not ok to take on oath, though it happens quite frequently in the OT, and the angles in revelations swear by god.

See they couldn't even finish the book without breaking their own laws!
If you go with honest intellectual inquiry are these scriptures applicable in the modern age?
Is God word. They should follow it. Whatever it is applicable or not. And yes, that are applicable today. Just, society has advanced enough thanks to secularism and that is seen wrong.

I would be more prone to believe that it is fear of not knowing what would happen if they decided to exercise that faith that was given to them. Every man was given "the measure of faith..." Some exercise that faith, some don't. Those that have been advised about exercising their faith, and still don't exercise their faith, will be left without excuse for not having exercised that faith. So, whether or not someone is 'convinced' is irrelevant. it is their decision that counts. A requirement of being convinced is just one of those many rationalizations to attempt a justification for not exercising that faith.

Yehoshua, this is the true name of that man you call Jesus was no Rabbi.
He was a jew though.
In addition he could not study Kabala, cause Kabala was developed more than 1000 years after he died.

No, Jesus would not have studied the Kabballah, or any other such writing. It is not Scripture.

What Jesus really was and is, is The Son of God.

jesus (pbuh) had both the knowledge of taurat and injeel.

kabbalah is something else.
you really have no idea what that is.
don't mix it with divine scriptures.

on the other hand;
the implementation of a doctrine never
ignores the reference book, nor contradicts.

if you want to go to "the turks and caicos islands".
well you look it up in a map or/and come up with "21° 30′ 18″ n, 71° 45′ 14.4″ w".
without pinning the map/landmarks/coordinated you are... well not getting there.

that's a fact if you ask me.

Dear Dr. Laura:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law.

I have learned a great deal from your show, and try to share that knowledge
with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual
lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly
states it to be an abomination. ... End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of
God's Law and how to follow them.

1. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a
pleasing odour for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is my neighbours. They
claim the odour is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus
21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her
period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I
tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offence.

4. Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and
female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A
friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not
Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2.
The passage clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated
to kill him myself?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an
abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I
don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a
defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my
vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair
around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev.19:27.
How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me
unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev. 19:19 by planting two different
crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two
different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse
and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of
getting the whole town together to stone them? - Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we
just burn them to death at a private family affair like we do with people
who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable
expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Your adoring fan,

I disagree. The people that wrote that book were sick in the head. They hated women and thought Jesus would return in their lifetime. All of it is laughably false.

That verse is telling women to try and live without being noticed. Gentle and quite spirit = do what your told?

Calling me names doesn't help your argument. If this book were the word of god, there would be no omissions. Besides, if you want to talk about being petty, perhaps you should discuss that with your god. Pettiness and cruelty knows no bounds where the christian god is concerned.

The rules only apply to women as in, if the divorce happens, the man can go get another mate, but the woman isn't allowed to unless he cheated on her. Of course, it isn't uniformly like that in the whole bible.

The bible allows divorce in matthew in cases of adultery. In corinthians, Paul tells us that god says if you divorce you should remain unmarried. Then he gives rules that he states are not gods rules, but his own rules. Those rules seem to say it is ok for non-believers to marry/divorce believers at will.

Of course, when you throw it back to the OT, Deuteronomy says a man may divorce his wife for being unclean. Surprisingly though, it also permits her to remarry.

Then you have passages in matthew mark and luke that say if divorce is never permissible.

To be such a perfect book, it sure does contradict itself a lot.

This is the pick and choose attitude I was talking about.

God enough to live your life by, but not really. If it isn't true, why is it revered to the point of worship?

I don't care about my worldly possessions, but my family is more important to me than any words in any book. If someone told me I could live forever with guaranteed eternal happiness by sacrificing my family and showed me absolute proof that what they were saying was true, I wouldn't even begin to consider it.

The happiness of those I love is much more important to me than my own happiness.

And here is a verse to support that statement:

If knowledge conflicts with god, it is better to be stupid.

I do not have blind faith that the chair will hold me up. The thought that the chair will hold me up is based on observations. If I see this chair:

I can see that this chair is made out of a shiny material, a property that is usually associated with metals. Metals are made of strong material. I can also see that the design of the chair would allow for the support of a lot of weight.

I would sit in that chair with some amount of confidence.

If I saw this chair:

I would just stand.

The decision to sit in a chair is based on sensory perceptions, whether you know it or not. The decision to believe in god is based on faith, because god can't be sensed using sight, smell, touch, hearing, or taste.

Even if the strong looking chair does break, it's not like I thought that there was no way it could break. It just seemed unlikely based on my previous experience with chairs, so I sat down with the understanding that there is a very small chance the chair might break.

Do you pray with the understanding that there is a very small (large?) chance that no one is listening?

We see this all the time from atheists, and it is a logical fallacy that points toward the self - and nothing else - as a basis for 'facts'.

Well, if YOU have never been to Paris of Beijing, does that mean that it is not real?

I participated in exactly zero Civil War battles and time travel is impossible, therefore the civil war is a hoax.

Even using your own example, if someone through a cover over the chair, you would still be able to sit on the chair, correct? Someone could also set up a cardboard chair underneath the same cover, and ... bang, you'd hit the ground when you sat on it.

If teh only thing that you deal with in your life is that which presents itself in front of you ... then you miss out on most of the universe.

Not too mention, how does this work when MILLIONS of people have witnessed the power of miracles and felt the holy spirit? Well, a close minded atheist has never felt it ... too bad that is exactly what is predicted to happen.

You have concluded there is nothing there based on a frankly self centered viewpoint, and done so based totally on faith. A faith that you have everything figured out and know all things.

Well, most people just call that arrogance.

If presented with the real version of this chair [IMG]

I would have to prove the doubting Thomas wrong. I would sit in the chair and lean on its back without falling to the floor. Pay attention to its design characteristics. Sitting in that chair can be accomplished.

I'm not really asking for your opinion but your OP in entitled "Bible verses that Christians ignore" and you used this as an example... "Men shouldn't cover their head when they pray; women should."

How are we ignoring this ? That was then, this is now. This isn't a command to us.

That is incorrect. "Without being noticed" is a poor interpretation as the point was to be noticed ..

"Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives"

I apologize for calling you petty..

What I mean is that if your grievances are,
1: having secondary rank or importance : minor, subordinate
2: having little or no importance or significance
3: marked by or reflective of narrow interests and sympathies then have at it.

Where are you getting this from ? Verse please ?

Stop there... So go with this...Christians aren't ignoring it..

Paul specifically states that "A wife must not separate from her husband. 11 But if she does, she must remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband. And a husband must not divorce his wife.

Paul's writings on marriage were that it was good to prevent people from sexual immorality but under the circumstances they believed the end-times were near, this was good advice considering the alternative.

lol You completely missed the point of what Paul was saying. "His rules" are simply stating that if the 'unbelieving' husband is willing to stay married to the believing wife, that he should because the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife....and vice versa

Two things...

Matthew includes marital unfaithfulness as an exception so you are wrong on that account..

and you still have not shown how You are somehow offering any evidence of Bible verses that Christians ignore ? (your OP)

Did you really think I wasn't aware of the OT laws when I wrote my reply? Now, are we Christians to obey these laws or what Jesus taught ?

So no ignoring here.

Without wasting my time to see who agrees with me or not, I will lay it down in a nutshell..

That is fine but that has nothing to do with what I said or this verse. I said everyone's salvation.

"every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life."
