But... I prayed about it since 2019 and I asked if Jesus wanted me to be baptized as a Latter day Saint..... and I feel that the Holy Spirit told me that I needed to draw closer to Judaism.... specifically the Noahide Movement.... because I am one of the only Christians that I know of who absolutely loves the teachings of former Atheist and near death experiencer Rabbi Alon Anava. I see his NDE as similar to Matthew chapter four and his teachings afterwards have the flavour of Matthew chapters five, six and seven......... I feel that the Holy Spirit told me that I need to play a role of ambassador between Noahides, Latter day Saints and Pentecostals, (my amazingly gifted wife is Pentecostal). (I've already been baptized and the re-baptized twice and I am certain that I did receive the Holy Spirit).

I also prayed about what to do with my tithes and I am really happy with the judgment call that I came up with for 2020.

The situation that I am facing now in 2021 is really not the same as what faced Prophet Joseph Smith two centuries ago.

 

Your answer is what is known as a double-minded answer. You went into that prayer wanting a specific answer. I'm a former Jew. You are incorrect. Jesus Christ is the Messiah and Savior of mankind. Judaism does not believe this. If I were to be baptized by Latter day Saint Elders I would tend to lose a lot of my ability to act as an Ambassador for Latter day Saints..... I know that idea will offend you somewhat .... I admire the direction in life that you have chosen CougarBear..... but I do feel the Holy Spirit telling me to go out there to the lost in the way that I am doing so so far!

 

I do plead guilty to being at least somewhat double minded.......
but.... I haven't been a member of one specific denomination since 1991... when I
separated from the Worldwide Church of God....... and I would love it if some of the readers
in this discussion would decide to study with Latter day Saint Elders or Sisters and end up baptized
by LDS Elders.... but I would also love it if they eventually got baptized by a Westlyian pastor like Pastor Todd Burpo.....
or by a Pentecostal Pastor like Pastor Hank Kunneman.... or one of near death experiencer Dr. Kevin Zadai's pastors who
work with him through Warrior Notes School of Ministry.......
or...... through a Charismatic Catholic official.........
frankly.... I would even love it if somebody were to go back to observant Orthodox Judaism after they begin to listen to

And, you then know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only Church with authority to perform the ordinances of salvation and exaltation. But I know what I saw in my sixty one years.... and our situation now in 2021 is somewhat different than the situation faced by Prophet Joseph Smith......... I received the Holy Spirit when I was baptized at twenty, (1979) , and I have seen the powerful guidance of Messiah Yeshua - Jesus in all six decades of my life. At this time..... I am really glad to have found another church where the Holy Spirit is working powerfully with such a high percentage of the membership, so that I can have powerful fellowship with members of the Latter day Saints who indeed..... have a high level of the Holy Spirit of God... The Comforter that was poured out in the Book of Acts and predicted in Joel chapter two. Fellowship is important..... but some of us are called to fellowship with multiple churches for specific reasons.

The situation is the same. The "Gift" of the Holy Spirit (Ghost) and the "Influence" of the Holy Spirit (Ghost) are not the same thing. People not baptized with one who has proper authority can receive the influence of the Holy Ghost when they pray properly with real intent and without that double mind. This influence is what can give you the Testimony I'm relating to you. But, the Gift of the Holy Ghost is quite different. It is only accomplished by one with the proper priesthood authority. Once given to you, it can stay with you constantly as long as we keep the commandments of God and repent continuously. Mark 1: 7, "And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. 8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost." It takes the authority of Christ to give the gift of the Holy Ghost. Whoever did this did not have that authority. Doesn't mean you haven't in times been influenced by the Holy Ghost. But, if the spirit you feel steers you away from the truth, then it's not the Holy Ghost influencing you.

 

What you Latter day Saints teach about salvation being taught even in the realm of the dead.....

Dr. Even Alexander M.D's near death experience.... is the sort of thing that he could not possibly just make up......... if he did then he would deserve nomination for five or six variations of an Academy Award!!!!!!!!

Joseph Smith had his first vision in 1820. He had many more as well as the voice of the lord and angels that taught him all that is needed for salvation and more important, exaltation. Someone else shown this through an honest question is for that person only. If they share it, that doesn't mean they have any authority to save one soul for exaltation. They don't. That authority is with those who have been called by God through those with authority in Jesus Christ's church. The one he set up to role through the earth and not given to Pastor Joyner or anyone else. It's a nice story and personal to him. It's a distraction to those like yourself ready for exaltation. Calling upon the Lord won't be heard by the Lord if it isn't for real intent without a double mind. Your intent is admirable to help atheists. But, then what? What about exaltation?

Lawlessness is the same as "Without Authority." When you are baptized by the Elders and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost, you will then be interviewed for worthiness to be conferred the Aaronic Priesthood upon you and be called to the Office of a Priest in the Aaronic Priesthood. You will be given authority to act in that office in the Aaronic Priesthood. You will no longer be lawless. Then, after a period of time, you will be interviewed again to receive the Melchizedek Priesthood conferred upon you. And, be called to the Office of an Elder in the Melchizedek Priesthood. The Aaronic Priesthood is for outward ordinances such as Baptism and performing the ordinance work of the Sacrament. The Melchizedek Priesthood is for the inward spiritual ordinances such as the Laying on of Hands for the Gift of the Holy Ghost without lawlessness. Instead, lawful through your authority. Also, it's with this Priesthood, the ordinances of exaltation can be performed inside the Temples or House of the Lord. Any attempt elsewhere without the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood is lawlessness and the Lord will not accept that work for exaltation in the Highest kingdom of Heaven. Which is also the Kingdom of Families Eternal.

All the life after life experiences by those without authority for the world is good for the individual, but has no lasting blessings of authority through eternity. Instead of inviting the Missionaries over to bloviate on life after life experiences of others, invite to learn and grow yourself. The missionaries don't need that info for their exaltation. The evidence is that The Father has given us all the evidence and information to understand what is lawful and what is lawlessness. It isn't like we go to the judgment seat blind. We can accept the testimony of the Holy Ghost or reject it. It's been given by Jesus Christ that he has restored his Church, that he established 2,000 years ago that was lost to apostasy, through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Not through any other minister, pastor, priest, Rabbi, atheist or Pope. The law has been restored. Learn it, live it, teach it and our judgment will be a good one. Do the opposite, you are a good person. And, there is a glory or mansion prepared for you. Telestial or Terrestrial. That is up to the Father. The Son is our lawyer or mediator through his atonement. But, not our judge. He's our advocate with the Father. With him, you have the potential for exaltation in the Celestial Kingdom as Paul taught and witnessed in his vision. I'll take his visions, along with Joseph Smiths and other prophets in this dispensation before anyone else. It's about authority and being lawful or through the Father's Priesthood or Authority and Power.

 

Remember that the 'N' in NDE stands for 'near', meaning they were not really dead

He gave to Joseph Smith the authority (priesthood authority) to bind that which is on earth to that which is heaven. The sealing power to connect families from Adam to the present. This was foretold by Malachi 4:5-6, "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." In JSH 1:39, it's clarified "And he shall plant in the hearts of the children the promises made to the fathers, and the hearts of the children shall turn to their fathers. If it were not so, the whole earth would be utterly wasted at his coming." Joseph Smith is not Elijah.

Elijah had only one purpose, not 8. Where they got that is from the same place that little babies need to be baptized for the remission of their sins. Joseph Smith is a "type" of Elijah but not Elijah. There's only one Elijah. And he came to give the authority to Joseph Smith and the rest of Priesthood brethren to seal families together forever.
