I do not see religious scholars as an authority on God. Being knowledgable about religion is not the same as being knowledgable about God.

Not unless said religion is based on the very word of God.

    Which is impossible to prove.

Naturally, but not impossible to convince.

Being convinced of God is not proof of God, it's proof that some are convinced that God exists.

Spooky, what were your facts missing?

I'm not being nosy or snarky, just curious. I've journeyed from being a serious Catholic to a disappointed agnostic, and back to Catholicism. Catholic is where I am now, but there isn't a day that goes by that I don't wonder whether God exists (I take it as my point of departure that he does) but doesn't even know or care that we're here. Not that I blame Him.

I assumed you were talking about some sort of readily apparent evidence.

Regardless, the proof is in the Qur'an and history of the Prophet. It is thus incumbent on you to study both and come to your conclusions.

And Jews believe it is in the Old Testament while Christians believe it is in the New Testament. Seems one of them, the OT, NT or Qur'an, should be a bit more accurate than the others.

I don't see why it matters what others believe. People can believe the sky is red, but that wouldn't make it so.

So only those who believe in the Qur'an are correct?

They are correct about Islam being the path that God has specially ordained for mankind to follow.

This doesn't mean others are wrong about God existing and whatnot.

They are correct in your view or factually correct? All of the religions that I know of hold their own religion to be the one for mankind to follow. Christians even go so far as to say the path to God is through Jesus. I'm guessing they are wrong?

I believe they are factually correct.

Yes, there are different paths to God; but like I said, Islam is the specific path that God has ordained.

Christians believe that Jesus is God. So what they are basically saying is that to accept Jesus is to accept God.

In my belief, they are wrong as far as their conception of God is concerned; eg. God having a son, and God being three.

Now that is a convoluted logic that actually is worthy of an egomaniacal God.

I have always wondered about this. I would say that a true God would know what He has created. If a man is made in God's image, then man is made to create rather than obey; and punishing people for the propensities that one has imparted them is out of character to what we know about God. If man is made in God's image, then he would have all the same propensities that God has. And God, primarily, is a creator.

It could be that God is the god of the infinite multiverse and that we are in one of the countless versions of reality in which man sinned and the crucifixion became a necessity to save some souls trapped in these imperfect, alternate timelines. In the prime universe, everything goes as planned and man exists forever in the garden of Eden, but when theologians speak of giving man free will, they are talking about the creation of the infinite other universes in which choices are made that lead to the fall of man. So the Jesus story is explained as one of God's hasty attempts at visiting each universe to try and somehow save the souls of that universe. There are infinity, so he is in a hurry and does the best he can. So that's why the logic doesn't really add up. God is just so busy compassionately trying to save as many souls as possible in as many versions of reality as possible that he never has time to make sure the rules make perfect sense in each universe. Our rules for our version of reality are what they are and we should accept that and be grateful that God even made the effort.

We know of no such effort.

"It could be that God is the god of the infinite multiverse".

It is just as likely that there is no God or multi-verse. Right?

Or do you have proof or evidence of either?

So would you see justice in an immoral judgement?

So we have the free will to reject God and his grace to us and if we do, he provides purposeless torture in hell and death after a suitable time.

You really follow such a prick?

How can he describe himself when every religion I know begins by saying that God is unfathomable, unknowable and works in mysterious ways?

Any description of himself he gives could be a lie or our own distortion of his mysterious ways.

How dare you do what scriptures urge us all to do and believes do not do.

1 Thessalonians 5:21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.

    Keep it up buddy.

    Imperfect?

Do you not believe your bible as to God creating all things perfect?

Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect:

Indeed. But not because it is truth.

Because shame will not let him admit he has wasted all those years on garbage that leads to a poor moral theology.

God cannot be bound by mere human inventions like morality.

    In the myth, yes.

But A & E also created a moral sense for themselves by eating of the tree of knowledge and Christianity preaches that that was our fall.

The Jews never say it that way but Christianity won the God wars so put their weird and ugly twist to the story to appease their Roman masters.

The Jews as a whole never kowtowed to Rome but Christianity sure did.

    Regards
