Allegations concerning prior presidents do not serve as the diversions some desperately seek.
I don't see any Trump pom pom flailers insisting that ascertaining the truth hidden by Trump refusing to let his knowledgeable intimates respect legal subpoenas, the truth to be found in his tax returns that he had made his fake promise to release, and the truth contained within his organization's bank records will accrue to his glory and dispel unfounded suspicions of wrong-doing.

Why not come clean? Might it be that...

When did it become legal for a financial institution to disclose one's records without the consent from the person????

This authority of Congress to issue subpoenas and hold in contempt those who defy them was recognized by the US Supreme court in 1821 in Anderson V Dunn, and later formally added to the US criminal code in 1857.

Federal judges have repeatedly upheld that authority.

Not for witch hunting purposes. There has to be a crime.

Despite some paranoid crackpots continually railing about their "witch hunts!", obtaining cogent records while investigating potential crimes is a valid congressional function, and federal judges have ruled accordingly. To demand there already be a proven crime before issuing a subpoena to determine whether there has been a crime would make no sense.

    ^^^ Exposed.

That is not needed. All that is needed is for them to release their financials and taxes. We have millions of Americans and a "Free Press" that can review them and we will know how Nancy Pelosi became so incredibly rich on her salary. We will know how Maxine Waters banking deals were done. We will know what contracts Feinstein's family got with her in the Senate. We will know how Charlie Rangel didn't pay his taxes. We will see Harry Reid's dirty land deals. But, you don't want real transparency. You want to attack the President of the United States for straight up ideological reasons.

There is no such requirement for federal judges to approve subpoenas, although desperate folks may pretend there is.

Does that mean members of congress can’t be indicted and can refuse an fbi interview? Lol

Even if Trump is twice the crook he is accused of being, this abuse of power cannot lead to anything good for Americans. I guess this is a good commercial for Bitcoin!

I cited the law that stated that specific committees in Congress have the right to IRS records of ANY individual.

Congress does NOT have to state ANY reason for doing so.

This law has been in effect and has been used for decades. There is NOTHING new about this. This specific law does not allow that information to be made public if it would identify a specific individual. However, there is other law covering when private information may be made public - such as if charges are brought.

Mnuchin has committed a crime by refusing to follow the law.

Congress could hold Mnuchin right now, because of his failure to honor a congressional subpoena.

Mueller laid out a clear case for charges of obstruction of justice.

That charge would have to be tried by Congress through impeachment, or the charge could be brought once he leaves office.

What we're seeing RIGHT NOW is a continuation of obstruction of justice - refusal to supply information rightfully demanded by congress, demands that individuals flout subpoenas, etc.

Witch hunt? The more Trump tries to stop from us finding things out.... seems like it all has a reason why we may not know, hence we do want to know. And didn't the bloke said that he was transparent?

    No Charges. No Crimes stated.

This is a pure tyrannical over reach by Congress and a first. This is a precedent that should have never been set.
