The DoI is the voice of 12 separate colonies declaring their independence from the mother country at one time, and their united action to free themselves from their bonds to that nation. It is not a declaration of the creation of a new single nation, but of 12 new, fully sovereign nations united only in one way, the joint effort to establish their individual sovereign status as true nations. A couple of years later they agreed to the Articles of Confederation, which didn't create a Nation so much as to form a Treaty union with less power than the EU has over the nations who are it's members. The only document of the founders that has any force of law is the Constitution, which truly did create a single nation.

What actual evidence do you have that he is a Marxist? I know a number of Marxists, and they think he is, at most a liberal Republican not far to the left of Scott Brown and Olympia Snow. If he were a leftist he would have pushed for single payer for healthcare, and he would have pushed much harder for a bigger stimulus. He tried to work with the Republicans in Congress, and that was his biggest mistake. He has finally gotten over that, and realized that they would rather see the nation go into a full blown decades long depression rather than see him re-elected. While there is much that I have disagreed with in his policies, the policies that the Republican candidates are proposing will only crush the middle class further and destroy this nation as a great power. I truly fear for this nation if any of the current crop of Republican candidates gains the presidency. And this is coming from a 61 year old white male.

I think these links made a good case that this is nothing that isn't routine.

Now where were you when liberals were claiming that Bush stole the election, planned 9/11, and was setting up Fema camps for dissidents?

This could be abused so easily. And how do we know it isn't already being abused? Then again, we don't know that it is or ever will be.

This is, indeed, scary. Many executive orders and bills are absolutely terrifying. The government only needs the nerve to use them for evil purposes and not much would be there to stop them.

My question is: what would be the point of this bill to be put into force during peace time?

That shows you ignorance. In theory USA is a representative democracy. In reality is a plutocracy with many totalitarian aspects. It means a minority decides for a majority according to their interests, never in the interests of the majority. That is USA.

If you like a system that is a soft dictatorship, then yeah. But I like the freedom and the democracy and the power of decide by myself and not what others want what I have to do.

You're saying that we should kill Jane Fonda? I don't think I'm down for that, you're on your own there.

As one who expresses such disapproval of hyperbolic, illogical thinking when you think you've identified it among those of us on the Right, your own contributions in the thread have offered nothing different. Example: re-read your post above... see the problem? It is impossible to determine exactly what the hell you're even talking about....

To the point, then: everything your somewhat slow-witted President Messiah needs to master in the performance of his job is carefully and comprehensively enumerated in the Constitution of the United States. There is no need for him (or those who do his thinking for him) to manufacture any supplemental "decrees", "enabling" acts (as Hitler did), or other suspiciously unnecessary piles of fish hooks for our constitutionally-oriented government to step on, barefooted.... :cynic: -- "They say it's no big deal? Then why do it in the first place?!"

Parenthetically, and I've meant to ask you this for some time... your location is described as "Teh Internets"? Where is that; more specifically, what is that? Just curious....

Well in case of emergency things like this are necessary but it lends too much power to one man.

I guess our safety new is the constitution of the US and the fact that we have weapons and the right (duty) to overthrow tyranny. All the guns in the world would not be a match for our military though so we can also be glad that they are rank and file citizens and they have to take time to deploy.

Again, people do not understand that Marx merely said the in every plant and factory, every business, the workers should form a union, and then together, negotiate the cost of their labor just like all the other ingredients are bought and purchased.

    Marx was a Union guy.

    Certainly, Obama is that.

The poblem Marx encountered is that some industries become monopolies once the labor is organized across the whole economy.
And, some few of those industries are essential to the survival of the whole economy.

This means that once all businesses are unionized, some workers in one industry will get paid less than other which can force the whole country to pay higher prices for their commodity or services.

All the other workers thru taxes and purchases will be paying that bill.

    #1, I wasn't posting then.

    #2, why is that relevant?

    But to answer your questions:

The FEMA camps brouhaha was stupid -- the liberal version of this thread.

Though it wasn't just the liberal fringe. Plenty of conservative paranoiacs joined in:
    http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/camps_for_dissidents_190.html

And then there are the all-purpose paranoiacs, like the followers of Alex Jones.

Some right-wingers are *still* pushing it now that the facilities are run by the Obama administration:

    http://www.alternet.org/rights/1461...eories_bloom_over_fema_'concentration_camps'/
    http://www.wnd.com/2009/02/87757/

I've been active in threads debunking the "Bush planned 9/11" theories. Again, though, that's hardly a liberal thing. That's more of the Alex Jones types -- conspiracy theorists, regardless of ideology.

"Bush stole the election" has more actual meat to it -- he lost the popular vote, and when an election comes down to a 500-vote difference in a shenanigans-plagued election in Florida, where the head of elections is partisan Kathleen Harris, it's rational to have doubts about the fairness of the outcome. But I've never argued he stole it, and never given comfort to the people who do. Politics is messy, and voting can be an inexact business. The vote was close enough that either candidate was a plausible winner. And after-the-fact recounts by media organizations found Bush still winning Florida under nearly all reasonable scenarios, regardless of how you counted "hanging chads" and the like.

I didn't like Bush, but I gave him credit when I thought he deserved it.

And I have nothing but contempt for conspiracy theorists and rumormongers.

Libertarian is not a definition for an economic system of distribution.
    Marxism is.

Marxism is the system of distributing the Goods and Services in a society by forming syndicates.

Syndicalism is what happened in Eastern Europe when the Rusians withdrwa almost over night.
Each factory and farm distributed their goods or services in a Black Market type of negotition.
The big farms sold all their crops to the highest bidder, which was always outside the country.

Syndicalism is not the feared Socialism that Obama must be giggle about, as if he is really interested in giving rich people's money to poor people.
Obama is dedicated to rewarding his friends and supports, like the union at GM, for instance.

Ther farmers left with a suitc

Stop licking Obama's Balls long enough to read this and try to comprehend it. Actually read the EO instead of trusting "sources" that "discuss" the EO

It is very clear to most how anti-America and anti-Constitution Obama is. God help us if he gets four more years to continue the carnage as a one-man wrecking ball.

Nice personal attack. That will definitely make people listen to your arguments.

What part of the linked file do you find outrageous?

I assume you know that the linked file is not the EO in question, but a sub-directive to the military.

I assume you also know that it's from 2007, when Bush was in charge.

Hardly you are just naive enough to think " it cant happen here". I gave you a small part of it to read and you didnt comment. Just keep thinking Obama is this great guy. He is a bloody tyrant no better and no worse then Bush.

I was giving you a small sample. The NDER for example. You can compare what i linked to the current EO. Notice the differences. This is incremental tyranny. In the last few months we have had NDAA passed. Lost the right to protest anywhere the SS is and now this EO. Wake the hell up.

It hasn't been abused in 60 years...will it be now???

You know OWS is far from over and Ubama, Pelosi and a host of other liberals have encouraged them. Something like this, civil unrest could be the catalyst and the only thing Ubama needs to instill Marshall Law. There is no criteria of what constitutes an emergency...it's up to the Dictator in Chief.

If our government was so concerned about National Defense they would secure the southern border...so evidently that is not the crisis that will precipitate this EO.

    I revised my initial response.

If you care to highlight the differences you think are significant, I will comment on them. I've already read over the EO and the commentary, so I'm not going to waste time trying to guess what you find offensive.

NDER was updated in this EO. I know it was in 2007. I did link it......

I have no issue seeing Bush and Obama for what they are. I'm not a partisan hack. Tyranny is tyranny this isnt a game were you want your "side" to win.

I didn't suggest it was a game with sides. I merely wanted to make sure that what you linked wasn't a mistake.

If you will point out what you find so outrageous, I will comment.

I am NOT watching a two-hour video! Good Lord.

Surely you can point out one or two things that are most egregious, as representatives of the whole.

If you can't, then it suggests that you do not have a coherent critique.

The fact that this EO can be executed under times of "Peace".

The fact that they can take over all resources in this country.

That is bad enough. If you are fine with those two then i am wasting my time talking to you.
