Mate, for two pins I'd think you were a hardcore fire-and-brimstone fundy preacherman, the way you take every word in the Bible rigidly and inflexibly..:)

I simply pointed out the impossibilities based on the actual written words not your interesting interpretation of them or the edits of your imagination. I can see now that people lived for a thousand years, the core of our planet is a giant ocean, there were eyewitnesses that survived the flood that killed everyone, Earth was smaller and gravity was lighter.
Likely They also rode dinosaurs to gather all the wood and woody woodpecker drilled the holes for the Ark.

Considering my reply was to Mitt typing this:
Only in the minds of unbelievers is it a 100% impossibility that the flood could have happened as the Bible declares.

    I pretty much had to.

As you know, it'd be a physical impossibility for every animal species to fit on the Ark, so it might have been a 'DNA repository craft', quite capable of storing thousands of tiny DNA samples.
As for the Flood, it might simply be symbolic of the environmental pressure on creatures to evolve or die, including humans who must evolve spiritually.
Once we start thinking outside the box like that, everything begins falling into place..:)

It would seem that "thinking outside the box" simply means changing what your Bible(s) say into whatever you want it to whenever you want to. Why do Christians put such stock in a book they know means nothing at all when they do not like what it says and then slam everyone else that calls them out on it or questions the stuff they are questioning?

Sumerian numbering system was sexigesimal 60. The Semetic decimal 10. The scribes in the Bible used one for before the flood and the other after the flood. They copied the Sumerian king list way at flood time.

The Earth does not expand and contract . Mountains rise because of pressure of Tectonic plates. Then they erode over a large space of time.

'Using a cadre of space measurement tools and a new data calculation technique, a team of NASA scientists detected no statistically significant expansion of the solid Earth.

However, they did estimate the planet's radius changes, on average, by about 0.004 inches (0.1 millimeters) per year, or about the thickness of a human hair — a rate considered statistically insignificant' .http://www.livescience.com/15599-earth-expanding.html

Fountains of the earth released water as well. What difference would that make? If a lake came to the surface it would leave an empty hole behind it. if that empty space were filled with air the water would simply sink straight back down again - water being heavier than air. If the roof of the empty space collapsed and filled it, then the water level above would immediately fall to the same original level.

The story is taken from Sumerian myth and adapted for |the Hebrews. This happens throughout the history of religions. You can see the adaptation of Jewish ritual and beliefs in todays Christianity.

In a rare moment of enlightenment (not sure what got into you) you have said something interesting (sans the defacto nature of your claim).

I do like the perspective of earth as some kind of experiment - that some God planted a seed on the earth and perhaps even checks in from time to time to see how that experiment is going.

What seems clear to me is that this scientist God does not intervene much in the experiment (if at all). I wonder how many other experiments around the universe may be under way.

Sorry but nothing has been proven, all we have are theories/speculations/guesswork/opinions/assumptions/denials. We don't even know what the topography was back then prior to the flood. Do you know how high was the highest mountain peak prior to the flood?....the answer is no.

Do you know what were the depths of the entire ocean sea floor prior to the flood?...the answer is no.

Prior to the flood the mountains were not as high as they are today, prior to the flood the ocean sea floor was not as deep as today. How do we know this?... by reading Scripture, the Bible clearly tells us that God acted to alter the Earth's topography.

After God flooded the entire earth covering the highest mountain peak, He eventually had the flood waters recede. He did this by raising the land masses and dropping the ocean sea floor creating deep sea basins so that the flood water would then be drained off from the land.

    We Read in Scripture:

    7 At your command, the water fled;
at the sound of your thunder, it hurried away.
8 Mountains rose and valleys sank
    to the levels you decreed.
9 Then you set a firm boundary for the seas,
so they would never again cover the earth." ---Psalms 104:7-9 NLT

So quite clearly then the waters of Noah's Flood are still here in today's ocean basins. In other words if the entire Earth's surface were leveled by smoothing out the topography of not only the land surface but also the rock surface on the ocean floor, the waters of the ocean would cover the Earth's surface to a depth of 1.7 miles (2.7 kilometers). We need to remember that nearly 70 percent of the Earth's surface is still covered by water.

Below for your reading enjoyment is a link to a Christian website that answers thoroughly and quite convincingly the following questions: Where did all the water come from? Where did all the water go?

    http://christiananswers.net/q-aig/aig-floodwater.html

You are assuming that the male & female penguins that boarded Noah's Ark came from Antarctica. Sorry but you don't know that, fyi not all penguins live in Antarctica.

When God created the animals, He gave them the ability to adapt. God foresaw the entrance of sin, a world gone wrong. God created His creatures with an incredible ability to survive in various climates. Some tropical animals can survive in cooler climates. And some animals that now live in Polar Regions can also survive in warmer temperatures.

These diverse ecosystems did not exist prior to the flood. But prior to the flood, penguins and other animals most likely lived near Noah’s home. Prior to the flood, the earth may have been one large landmass. Our present continents are shaped as a result of re-disposition of flood sediments, and receding flood waters.

After the flood there were land bridges (because of a lower sea level) that connected many of the continents. Years later, the glaciers started to melt and the water level rose. This caused many land bridges to disappear.

The animals that were on these continents would be stuck there. Keep in mind too, that many animals were brought to the United States by explorers. They did not travel there themselves. The same may be true for animals in other places.

When God flooded the earth it wasn't only from rain water, water came from underground as well. We know it's impossible now for rain to fall for 40 days and 40 nights because God promised us He would never again flood the earth.

    We Read in Scripture:

8 Then God told Noah and his sons, 9 "I hereby confirm my covenant with you and your descendants, 10 and with all the animals that were on the boat with you—the birds, the livestock, and all the wild animals—every living creature on earth. 11 Yes, I am confirming my covenant with you. Never again will floodwaters kill all living creatures; never again will a flood destroy the earth." ---Genesis 9:8-11 NLT

Of course you are expressing your opinion here and btw it was eight humans.

Of course those impossibilities are all coming from your theories/speculations/guesswork/opinions/assumptions. Again nothing has been proven.

When it comes to Almighty God the Creator nothing is impossible for Him to do, nothing that is contrary to His character and nature...that is.

    We Read in Scripture:

Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible." ---Matthew 19:26 NLT

WHAT A LOT OF BULL. All you are doing is quoting from the Bible. The website you quote uses possibilities of a flat earth. That hasn't happened, if at all, for millions of years, long before man ever walked the earth. Everything it says is speculation and hypothetical. They try to cram millions of years into a single period - and it doesn't work. Our continents are formed by the movement of tectonic plates.

A hundred million years ago a vast sea separated India from Eurasia. Then India began drifting northward at a rate of about four inches (ten centimeters) a year. In geologic time, that’s breakneck speed.

India collided with Eurasia some 50 million years ago. Land crumpled and buckled upward—the birth of the mighty Himalaya. But the tumult wasn’t over. A cataclysmic uplift 20 million years ago formed much of the present-day Himalaya. Yet they still weren’t the dramatic peaks we know today.

“About eight million years ago,” says geologist Mark Harrison, “all hell broke loose when the present range, the really steep topography, developed.” Now slicing nearly six miles (ten kilometers) into the sky, the Himalaya became the highest mountain range on Earth.

    TODAY’S TECTONIC DRAMA
India still presses forward; indeed, the Indian subcontinent has penetrated more than 1,200 miles (1,900 kilometers) beneath Eurasia. As India pushes, Mount Everest continues to rise.

How fast is the great peak growing? In 1994 researchers placed a global positioning satellite (GPS) device on the South Col, a plateau below the summit. Readings suggest that Everest grows 0.1576 inches (about four millimeters) each year.

Other tectonic forces, however, may cost Everest some of its height. Do they and the peak’s growth cancel each other out? That’s a key question for the expedition team.
    http://www.nationalgeographic.com/features/99/everest/roof_start.html

And penguins don't live in the middle east either. They are in the Southern Hemisphere.

All you've done is to cram millions of years into one event. It doesn't work. Either the Biblical flood was within the span of man's memory or it was millions of years ago - before man. Your website suggests the latter.

There may have been a disastrous local flood - but it did not cover mountains. And it could not be have been in man's time on earth. ByeBye Noah.

well most of when and where plates moved, so on and so forth, are theories, and educated guesses based on what their instruments tell them at best, they weren't there nor is there any documentation of witnesses.

but what is interesting true flood wise is, the earth at least today still splits plate wise in the mist of both the pacific and Atlantic oceans from north to south hence two hemispheres if you will continue to move in a expansive motion, or at the least grow against each other. and it seems the rest is a result of the that effect on the earth. there is a continuous splitting and who is to say that didn't start with water coming out and now its the water over it that keeps it at bay. its been boiling for who knows how long and who is to say that that isn't the reason the earth is growing in temp at a very gradual pace. the delusion that the temp situation is recent do to human activity is ludicrous considering that every one knows that ice (in this case glaciers ) remains ice until the temp reaches a certain point then it melts. if the average temp has been building up since some - temp we aren't aware of once it hits melting temp then every one takes notice.

What are you talking about? The two natural Hemispheres are north and south. North - above the Equator. South - below the Equator. East a West hemispheres are manmade using the Greenwich Meridian - dividing the east from the west.

Tectonic plate sides go north and south, east and west. And they do not grow against each other. the lighter weight crust gets forced down under the other. The reason for earthquakes and tsunamies. Currently the Indian tectonic plate has been pushed down by the Eurasion tectonic plate and is currently many kilometers beneath the Eurasion plate. It's still happening due to thermal convection under the earths surface, and will contnue to happen. There isn't a continuous splitting.

Doesn't make any scientific sense taken with other statistics.

Actually A LOT OF BULL is coming from you when you spew the statement, "It's a 100% impossibility that the flood could have happened as the Bible declares. Science proves it. Hydrology proves it."

Let me repeat again, science cannot prove/disprove God/Holy Bible. Therefore I cannot prove the Great Flood of Noah happened nor can you prove the Great Flood of Noah didn't happen.

But nevertheless we can spew out statements such as, "I believe as written in the Scriptures that the Great Flood of Noah happened."

And you could say, "I believe it's a 100% impossibility that the flood could have happened as the Bible declares based on theories."

These statements would be acceptable but anyone who declares it could be proven either way is spewing A LOT OF BULL.

You simply refuse to accept facts. I've shown you time and again FACTS. You decline to accept them. I showed you the experiment. Did you try it? Water cannot act the way described in the Bible. If you want to refuse science, then admit the fact. If you want to refuse hydrology, admit the fact. If you want to refuse anything that does not suit the Bible or you, admit the fact.

"I believe it's a 100% impossibility that the flood could have happened as the Bible declares based on theories" I did not say anything about theories. Any child knows the actions of water.

Like an ostrich is supposed to do - you hide your head in the sands. You spew out statements from the Bible that you have never tested - just accepted the statement/fact is true.

a hemisphere is half of a sphere ding dong, doesn't matter what half. you should learn some basic geometry before you spew stupidity. and yes it is a continuous splitting the opposite side of the plates under the oceans mentioned move towered the related continents. why do you think places like California and japan experience more then average earth quakes and the like for example. there is volcanic activity in the mist of said oceans on the edge of such plates almost from poll to poll forcing the plates outward towards the cost lines. and yes there is a west and eastern hemisphere but I'm not drawing longitudinal lines here.

    We Read in Scripture:

That Assyrian Ethiopia, Arabia, and Persia existed when Adam & Eve were in the Garden of Eden and that they existed after Noah's flood without any damage whatsoever. So can we please kill the stupid Noah flood story? It was just a war story.

Well that's a very good question indeed! First let me say there is no accuracy at all with those other religions, essentially they are all false religions. Believing in other religions will not get anyone into heaven. Only the Christian religion does that. The Christian religion is open to all peoples of the world, no matter who you are. The basic core doctrine of the religion is that one must believe/accept that Jesus Christ is their Lord Savior. The only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ.

    We Read in Scripture:

6 Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." ---John 14:6 NLT

But anyway I present below a thorough explanation that comes from my favorite Christian website that answers the question (which will essentially answer the question you posed):

Question: "How do we know that the Bible is the Word of God, and not the Apocrypha, the Qur’an, the Book of Mormon, etc.?"

Answer: The question of which (if any) religious text is the true word of God is of utmost importance. To avoid circular reasoning, the first question we must ask is: how would we know if God communicated in the first place? Well, God would have to communicate in a manner that people could understand, but that also means that people could make up their own messages and simply claim that they came from God. So, it seems reasonable to think that if God wanted to authenticate His communication He would have to verify it in a manner that could not be duplicated by mere humans - in other words, by miracles. This narrows the field considerably.

Beyond the evidence for the Bible's correctness (manuscript evidence) and its historicity (archeological evidence), the most important evidence is that of its inspiration. The real determination of the Bible's claim to absolute inspired truth is in its supernatural evidence, including prophecy. God used prophets to speak and write down His Word and God uses miracles like fulfilled prophecy to authenticate His messengers. For example, in Genesis 12:7, God promises that the land of Israel was to be for Abraham and his descendants. In 1948 Israel was returned back to the Jewish people for the second time in history. This may not seem so astonishing until you realize that no nation in the history of the world has been scattered from its homeland and returned! Israel has done it twice. The book of Daniel predicts with accuracy the coming of the four great kingdoms from Babylon, to Medo-Persia, to Greece, to Rome centuries before some of those kingdoms came on the scene with details concerning how they would rule and be broken. This includes the reigns of Alexander the Great and Antiochus Epiphanies.

In Ezekiel 26 we can see in astonishing detail how the city of Tyre was to be destroyed, how it would be torn down, and how its debris would be thrown into the sea. When Alexander the Great marched on that area, he encountered a group of people holed up in a tower on an island off the coast near there. He could not cross the sea, so he could not fight those in the tower. Rather than wait them out, the proud conqueror had his army throw stones into the sea to build a land bridge to the tower. It worked. His army crossed the sea and overthrew the occupants of the stronghold. But where did he get so much stone? The rocks that were used for the land bridge were the leftover rubble from the city of Tyre . . . its stones cast into the sea!

There are so many prophecies concerning Christ (over 270!) that it would take more than a few screens worth of space to list them all. Further, Jesus would have had no control over many of them such as His birthplace or time of birth. Second, the odds of one man accidentally fulfilling even 16 of these are 1 in 10^45. How many is that? For comparison, there are less than 10^82 atoms in the entire universe! And Jesus, who affirmed the Bible as the Word of God, proved His reliability and deity by His resurrection (an historical fact not easily ignored).

Now consider the Quran - its author, Muhammad, performed no miracles to back up his message (even when he was asked to by his followers - Sura 17:91-95; 29:47-51). Only in much later tradition (the Hadith) do any alleged miracles even show up and these are all quite fanciful (like Muhammad cutting the moon in half) and have zero reliable testimony to back them up. Further, the Quran makes clear historical errors. Muslims believe the Bible is inspired but with some errors from editing (Sura 2:136 as well as Suras 13, 16, 17, 20, 21, 23, 25). The question they cannot adequately answer is: "When was the Bible corrupted?" If they say before 600 A.D. then how can the Quran admonish believers to read it? If they claim it was after 600 A.D., then they have jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire, for we have absolutely no doubt as to the accuracy of biblical manuscripts from at least the 3rd century forward. Even if Christianity were false, the Quran still has an insurmountable problem because it makes judgments against Christians for believing things that they do not (nor have they ever) believed. For example, the Quran teaches that Christians believe the Trinity is the Father, the Mother (Mary), and the Son (Sura 5:73-75, 116), and the Quran also teaches that Christians believe that God had sex with Mary to have a son (Suras 2:116; 6:100-101; 10:68; 16:57; 19:35; 23:91; 37:149-151; 43:16-19). If the Quran is really from God, then it should at least be able to accurately report what Christians believe.

Joseph Smith, the author of the Book of Mormon, tried to do some miracles such as prophecy (a test for a true prophet in Deuteronomy 18:21-22) but failed several times. He foretold of Christ's second coming in History of the Church (HC) 2:382. Joseph Smith preached that the coming of the Lord would be in 56 years (about 1891). The second coming did not occur in 1891, and the Mormon Church does not claim that it did. Nor has it occurred since. He also prophesied that several cities would be destroyed in Doctrine and Covenants (D&C) 84:114-115. New York, Albany and Boston were to be destroyed if they rejected the gospel according to Smith. Joseph Smith himself went to New York, Albany, and Boston and preached there. These cities did not accept his gospel, yet they have not been destroyed. Another famous false prophecy of Joseph Smith was his "END OF ALL NATIONS" in D&C 87 concerning the rebellion of South Carolina in the war between the states. The South was supposed to call on Great Britain for aid, and as a result war would be poured out upon all nations; slaves would revolt; the inhabitants of the earth would mourn; famine, plague, earthquake, thunder, lightning, and a full end of all nations would result. The South finally did revolt in 1861, but the slaves did not rise up, war was not poured out upon all nations, there was no worldwide famine, plague, earthquake, etc., and there was no resulting "end of all nations."

The collection of writings that Protestants call the Apocrypha (hidden writings), Roman Catholics call the deuterocanonical (later or second canon) books. These books were written between 300 B.C. and 100 A.D., the Intertestamental Period between the inspired writings of God's Prophets in the Old Testament and those of the Apostles and their contemporaries in the New Testament. These were "infallibly" accepted into the Bible by the Roman Catholic Church in 1546 at the Council of Trent. Now the Apocrypha would be covered under the evidence for the Bible if these writings were truly inspired - but evidence seems to indicate that they are not. In the Bible we find prophets of God whose messages are ratified by miracles or prophecy that comes true, and whose message is immediately accepted by the people (Deut 31:26; Josh. 24:26; 1 Samuel 10:25; Daniel 9:2; Col. 4:16; 2 Peter 3:15-16). What we find in the apocrypha is just the opposite - no apocryphal book was written by a prophet. None of these books were included in the Hebrew Scriptures. There is no ratification of the authors of any apocryphal book. No apocryphal book is cited as authoritative by later Biblical writers. There is no fulfilled prophecy in any apocryphal book. Finally, Jesus, who quoted from every section of Old Testament Scripture, never once quoted from the apocrypha. Neither did any of His disciples.

The Bible so far outshines every competing source for being God's revelation that if it is not God's Word, it would seem impossible to choose among the leftovers. If the Bible is not God's Word, then we have been left with no clear criteria by which to know what might be.

Why are there so very many disagreements among people about religion. It would seem like god would be capable of conveying a unified message if were important to Him for humans to understand his correct message

I know what a hemisphere is. The north and south Hemispheres are divided naturally by the equator. In terms of temperature, Types of Flora, fauna, etc they mirror each other going from extreme heat to frozen wastes. The Prime Meridan at Greenwich is a man made 'device' for set up for shipping references in the 19th century. There is no natural hemisphere - east and west.

Volcanos do not move tectonic plates. They are the result of weaknesses in the earth's crust forced open by pressure from below, and while many volcanos appear along fault lines due to weaknesses along the edge, many don't. Most earthquakes are caused by the movement of tectonic plates - but not all - which are moved by convection currents beneath. I know about the fault lines - the tectonic movements - the earthquake dangers. Tectonic plates don't split. They have been split for millions of years. That's why we have the 5-7 continents (depending on your definition). Neither do they all have the same action. Some move away from each other, some rub against each other and those that meet 'headon' cause the most problems.

California - The Pacific plate is moving north - the American south (roughly) so you get earthquakes along fault lines when the pressure builds up.
Japan is actually similar. The North American plate spreads across the north and meets the Eurasion plate and, very close by, the Pacific plate. It was the meeting of the North American plate and the Pacific plate that cause the 2011 Japanese Tsunami. The thick layer of mud on the Pacific plate caused it to slip under the North American plate. Bingo. A tsunami.

One day California will inevitably have similar problems - it's a matter of time.

We have 50-60 small earthquakes in the UK and we're in the middle of the Eurasion Plate. Mainly due to fault lines in the Tectonic plate. Most are unnoticed.

If we apply this basis of evaluation to the Bible, virtually nothing significant in that book is remotely close to being indisputable

The Bible is filled with descriptions of miracles . by definition, miracles are extraordinarily improbable.

Good question, yes indeed there are many disagreements among people about religion that's why there exist so many religions.

This confuses many people, especially when they hear the claim that all religions lead to God without question. That really doesn't make any sense at all especially when it's rather obvious these differing religions contradict one another.

The Bible gives us the biblical explanation of why there are so many religions.

    We Read in Scripture:

19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. 20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. 23 And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. ---Romans 1:19-23 NLT

So many people seek their own way to understand God, many people reject the Christian God because they do not want to believe in a God who demands righteousness and morality so they invent their own God who makes no such requirements.

The problem here is not with God but with us human beings. He has given us a clear and simple unified message but many reject it. Many don't even want to believe God exists at all. We human beings disagree on all sorts of things let alone religion. We have disagreements in politics...what policies to enforce in governing our country, republicans have their version, democrats have theirs, in education... there are disagreements on how we should educate our children, you name it, there will always be disagreements. Some people say fat is beautiful while others disagree and say skinny is beautiful. The point is we humans can't agree on anything, and so is it really a surprise we can't agree on religion?

Many people do not want to believe in a God who declares it impossible for people to earn their own way to heaven. So they invent a God who accepts people into heaven if they have completed certain steps, followed certain rules, and/or obeyed certain laws, at least to the best of their ability. Many people do not want a relationship with a God who is sovereign and omnipotent. So they imagine God as being more of a mystical force than a personal and sovereign ruler.

The existence of so many religions is not an argument against God's existence or an argument that truth about God is not clear. Rather, the existence of so many religions is demonstration of humanity's rejection of the one true God. Mankind has replaced Him with gods that are more to their liking. This is a dangerous enterprise. The desire to recreate God in our own image comes from the sin nature within us....a nature that will eventually "reap destruction"

    We Read in Scripture:

7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. ---Galatians 6:7-8 NLT

Do all religions lead to God?...the answer is NO. There will come a day when we will all stand before God...the religious and the non-religious.

    We Read in Scripture:

27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, 28 so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him. ---Hebrews 9:27-28 NLT

Religious affiliation is not what determines your eternal destiny. Only faith in Jesus Christ will save.

    We Read in Scripture:

12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life. ---1 John 5:12 NLT

Only Christianity....faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ....leads to God’s forgiveness and eternal life. This is God's simple message to all.

    We Read in Scripture:

6 Jesus told him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. ---John 14:6 NLT

Truth is, it does make a difference what you believe. The decision to embrace the truth about Jesus Christ is important. Eternity is an awfully long time to be wrong.

    We Read in Scripture:

16 "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." ---John 3:16 NLT

    Mitt

Thx for your very thorough response
However, let me elaborate a bit on my question

I was not just referring to the abundance of different and incompatible religions
But also the astounding abundance of religions based upon the Bible
There are entire books about early versions of Christianity
And new versions and dogmas have continued to proliferate over time
Mormons, seventh day Adventist, southern baptist, Methodist, Mennonite, puritan, snake handlers, pentacostal, Church of England, episcopal, LCa Lutheran, elc Lutheran, Missouri synod Lutheran, and dozens of mega churches and televangelists, Branch davidians...there is virtually an endless list of different sects... all of whom read the same bible, but are convinced their own particular interpretation/dogma is superior... and in many cases they will tell you that if you are not in their church you are going to hell.

So, in the end, even among self identified Christians... most of the Christians who have ever lived would disagree with each other... or at least have very serious disagreements about god's word
Is divorce ok? Homosexuality, fighting in the military? Do I need to be born again? Do I need full immersion baptism? Is it hard for the rich to enter heaven, or does jesus teach the prosperity gospel?
Does Jesus teach that it is wrong for the government to feed the poor and care for the sick? Are the miracles of the Bible real, or simply teaching stories? Is every word in the Bible absolutely true? How does god feel about slavery? What will happen to little Hindu babies who die without accepting jesus? Did god creat the world in six actual days? How old is the earth. Were cro magnin men people? How about Lucy? Or the Neanderthals? Why did god ignore the Aztec and the American Indians? Are witches real and how should they be killed? Who wrote the gospels? when were they written? And why do we not have gods original words? And why do the gospels sometimes disagree? Who decided which books would be in the Bible and which would not?

    Mitt
I do not expect you to answer all these questions
But am just pointing out that there are a huge number of questions and I have just scratched the surface
So... given all the questions... clearly there is no unified message. And clearly lots of people who lived and died as Christians...also had fundamentally different views of what it meant to be Christian

I'll bet that you don't know when Jesus became a "Jew" in the Bible?
