Correct. And I doubt anyone has a problem with God. Only people's and religions interpretations and beliefs of who/what/why God is or isn't.

Be my guest. Prove yourself and disprove me.
Or admit, more of the same BS from you.

Another good reason to becoming a Christian has to do with the death of Jesus. If Jesus was such a good man, if God really approved His teachings, why did God allow Him to die?

What was the purpose of His hideous death? Early Christians were not long in trying to explain the death of Jesus, and more people found reason to believe the story.

It started with Jesus Himself, who taught that, "just as the Son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28 NAS).

Jesus said He was giving His life for a reason. His death had a purpose....it was to serve other people, to pay a price to rescue them.
The disciples said that Jesus "died for our sins" ....He died so that our sins, the things we have done wrong, would be forgiven. First-century Jews and Greeks were used to thinking about religion in terms of sacrifices. Jesus was a sacrifice, a payment of some kind, dying on behalf of other people to rescue them.

Scholars debate the reasons why Jesus had to die so others could be forgiven. But the bottom line is that He did it. He willingly gave His life to save us. It shows His great love for us ... "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8 NAS).

For some people, this makes tremendous sense. Evil is serious, and it cannot be waived aside as if it did not matter. It matters a great deal, and the death of Jesus shows that it does. A huge cost was involved in paying for the consequences of sin. Jesus' death shows not only the seriousness of sin, but also the depth of God's love for us. Because of Jesus' death, people believe that God loves them.

    Ah finally one decent question.
The Lord has already appeared to Moses, the prophets and to the Apostles as well as to many Saints to write down and act on His behalf just like you would have your attorney to act on your behalf even with out your presence your attorney's words are accepted as yours. Maybe one of this day God will personally appear to you, you just have to pray harder and have faith.

The name Amalek will be blotted out under the Heaven meaning that Amalek existence on earth will be wiped out. I guess you'll ask why? Because the Amalek have been been very evil they have been pillaging and attacking other tribes and the Hebrews were one of their victims the Hebrews were attack while journeying to the promise land. The Amalek have shown no mercy against the Hebrews.

    Deuteronomy 25
"17 “Remember what Amalek did to you on the way as you came out of Egypt,
18 how he attacked you on the way when you were faint and weary, and cut off your tail, those who were lagging behind you, and he did not fear God.
19 Therefore when the Lord your God has given you rest from all your enemies around you, in the land that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance to possess, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven; you shall not forget."

    Exodus 17:
"8 Then Amalek came and fought with Israel at Rephidim.
9 So Moses said to Joshua, “Choose for us men, and go out and fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.”
10 So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
11 Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.
12 But Moses’ hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
13 And Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the sword.
14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this as a memorial in a book and recite it in the ears of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven.”
15 And Moses built an altar and called the name of it, The Lord is my banner, 16 saying, “A hand upon the throne of the Lord Jacob! The Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation."

The Biblical relationship between the Hebrew and Amalekite tribes was that the Amalekite tribes without provocation pounced on the Hebrews when they were weak. The Amalekites became associated with ruthlessness and trickery and tyranny, even more so than Pharaoh or the Philistines, and required a ruthless response:

You missed at least one, "superiority of the...."

Of course, I know plenty of (esl) people who dont use English nearly as well as our friend does.

The only point about English usage here of interest is how it relates to the claims of always wanting to learn, and, of course, claims to deep wisdom. In a non-native speaker, it could be credible.

If he'd like to tell us he was raised speaking Icelandic, and is just now learning English, we could
drop this bit about English usage, though he might like to quit trying to pretend he can flaws in others' usage.

You dont see any errors? If not, you may wish to follow thru with the worship bit.

Christianity in reality is not the easiest choice, it is the most difficult choice a person can make, because it comes with persecution in each and every form. It comes because our souls can only be perfected through suffering, yet even though we suffer, God gives us His Grace and with it we have peace. This might not be an outward peace, because you might be caught in the middle of a war zone like the Syrians for instance, or in countries where you are perceived as a threat...like Egypt for instance.

Besides personal tragedies, Christians also suffer the slings and darts of atheists. In the past it was the Soviet Union and the gulags, today it's in our secular media, our schools, our business', etc. Although our persecution in the West is a lot more subtle, it is still there...ask any devout Christian and he will tell you, satan is alive and well.

As I said it's a subtle persecution. I mean come on, read some of the comments on the forum to know the type of people we are up against. The only reason they are on this forum is to insult and offend Christians. Doesn't this say something about the society we are living in?

Anyway my point is that all devout Christians suffer in some way or another. They have to, and I'm always amazed when I see the amount of tragedies devout people have, in comparison to those who are far from God. But then again how can someone be compassionate towards others without suffering?

Have you read about the tens of thousands of priests, monks, nuns and bishops who were shipped to the Soviet Gulag? The difference between these martyrs and the Chinese who suffered and every other group of immigrants, is that the Christians in most of the cases didn't have to suffer. Even today in the Middle, Near and Far East, they could very easily deny their faith.

This is why I said it is the most difficult choice a person can make and the suffering that comes with it is immense. It has to be, because a person's heart can only be purified through suffering, for without a pure heart there is no way someone can be united with a Creator God Who is All Pure.

As for me and others, you don't know nor will you ever know, for the one thing all Christians project is a profound sense of peace. ..

My humility comes in not pretending I have the answer to the great Truth questions.
But I do recognize poor argumentation pretty well.

I wouldn't do it except he wants to believe he can find the errors in mine. I look forward to his attempts.

This is more or less the same argument as before. For starters, you're assuming that all the background you're referring to is true, which by itself requires you to already have chosen Christianity over other religions, which means it is not actually the reason you believe, since you believe before this logic takes place.

And secondly, assuming that the redemption does need to happen, the redemption could just as well happen through the Buddhist idea of giving up desires and attachments. Again, the logic you present argues just as much for Christianity as for some other world view, which means either you hold several contradicting beliefs, or you're not giving us the real reason you believe.

Do me a favour. Even if you don't wish to partake in an honest, totally disclosing discussion by responding to my criticism, please google your next claim. If the claim could argue just as much for some other belief system than Christianity, don't do me the discourtesy of thinking I'm not clever enough to apply the same logic again. If your logic does not single out Christianity, it is not a good reason to become a Christian. You need an argument that singles out Christianity, including the idea that you need to believe the claims that Christianity makes about itself. I usually try to be less blunt than this, but I'm not really interested in hearing many arguments, I'm interested in hearing the actual arguments. If they're not good arguments, or do not argue in the direction you want them to, they're not the arguments I'm asking for.
