    That is precisely what would happen if our government took over patents and enforced the rule that nobody had any IP rights.

    Nuh uh is not a valid argument. Those working long hours, risking their own money, giving up on time with family to produce intellectual property deserve to enjoy the fruits of their labor. If you oppose copyright and patent protection, you support theft.

    While I have no problem with the inventor being paid for his efforts, I do take issue with the absolute authority to prevent people from using his invention at all.
