Fatbo apologized because Clear Channel Advertisers were bailing ... so Fatbo had to apologize lest Clear Channel boot his fatazz like Faux Noize did to Beckerhead ...

First off, I don't know about others, but I didn't defend his use of that word. I did not hear the commentary, so I was never sure how it was said or what the context was. But I would never condone calling someone a name like that in public.

Secondly, if you believed we needed to apologize for him.....then you must also believe the left should have apologized for Maher, Letterman, Gov. Brown, and all the other liberals who called conservative women names?

I would just be satisfied if the ones who do it would apologize for themselves. Don't you think that's generally a good idea; to apologize?

 

I have already stated my point about both the Palin comments (although SHE at least was a public figure and Maher apologize the next day. . .instead of reitereting his insults and making them worse like Limbutt did), and also about the little baby boy. . .

I stated that ANY disparaging comments about any child is wrong (including the disparaging comments about the need to "kill Obama's monkey children."

I also stated that Palin was guilty of using this little child as a PROP for her campaign. . . and that it was even more unconscionable because this baby has down's syndrome, which makes him a lot more fragile and susceptible to germs.

As a social worker who spend 7 years as a case manager for an average of 85 people with developmental disabilities, including Down's syndrom, it is obvious that the best Palin could have done for that child was, if not take care of him in her own home, at least allow the child to be taken care off in a safe, stable, structured environment, instead of exposing him for her own political gain to the chaos of the political campaign, passing him from arms to arms, and subjecting him to bright light, loud noises, and the infinite amount of germs that surrounds any large crowd.

And, I perfectly understand that YOU were talking about the "liberal" hypocrisy, just as I am talking about the "Conservative" hypocrisy.

Rush is an opportunist who makes his living pandering to a certain slice of the American pie. His halfhearted, self-serving apology is nothing more than an attempt to mollify his sponsors.

I think his supporters should ask themselves this question; If Rush was incapable of recognizing that calling a woman a slut on the air was crossing the line BEFORE he did it, what else is this guy missing?

I really don't think Rush should have apologized, but he probably did it to soften the left's hypocritical excuse to pound on Republicans. Obviously, this Fluke is a slut or at least an attention whore, but it was a poor choice of words that Rush used.

It's too bad that the advertisers will be less successful from not benefitting being on Rush's show.

Let's think about that a bit. You acknowledge his error, but due to partisanship you think that he should not apologize for his error.

 

That's what they say; I don't happen to think either is funny. Maher always has that snarly look on his face like he didn't have any friends as a kid or something. A very unhappy guy, I'd say.

Rush is in the entertainment business. He has said that many times on his program......AND it's about politics and issues of the day. If his program wasn't entertaining, he wouldn't have made it this long.....I believe 23+ years.

Did the left EVER call for the comments about Palin, her baby, or her daughter to stop...and for apologies to be issued? I'm pretty sure I know the answer to that since I was here during all that. And unlike, Rush, those guys have never felt the need to apologize for their nastiness towards those women. So, what's the difference? Conservative women: fair game? but liberal women: not so much??
