Oh, did I say he was not? I think I stated quite clearly in this thread that he panders to the dullards. One can extrapolate form that he panders to gain listeners.

So....do you or do you not condemn them for what they all said about Palin, her baby boy, and her daughter? I think once we ALL agree as a nation that these kinds of words and name-calling is not necessary in these discussions, we move forward and get to the real issues. That won't happen when one side is still saying......conservative women are "fair game," but liberal women are not.

The real issue here was never about her sex life. It was about the religious freedom issue. And Rush clouded all that with his choice of words and name-calling.

So, it's okay for comedians to call women derrogatory names, but not political talk show hosts? Have you told Bill Maher or Keith Oberman yet?

 

I have never watched Olberman and I have expressed the same amount of outrage over what Rush said as I ever have over what Maher has ever said. Certainly he has said stupid things too.

Now were you expecting me to take either of them seriously?

He didn't need to....but I think it was VERY nice that he did. Don't you? No, it wasn't required because the left never apologizes for what they say about conservative women. But I'm glad Rush did the right thing and rose above it all.

Frankly, I did not hear the original commentary and didn't read the transcript or know what context it was said in. But calling women.....or even inferring such things is NOT good. No matter who says it.

I don't understand your question, but I will attempt to provide an answer.

Maher is a comedian. He says a lot of mean things about a lot of people. Most of it amusing, but none of it I take seriously.

Limbaugh is a talk show host, who does hold himself up as a certain standard. He said something stupid, which is not surprising considering his history of saying something stupid. Again, I do not take him seriously either.

Should he have apologized? I don't particularly care either way. I think the woman in question is a bit of a nut job with skewed priories and the apparent inability to find condoms on sale, and her intellectual and moral counterpart said something stupid over the radio.

Apologize or not, I don't care either way.

 

IF all you say is true.....kinda make one wonder why the prez is so obsessed with what Rush Limbaugh says, eh? Perhaps the prez should involve himself in more important things.....like getting gas prices down, creating some jobs, calming the Middle East, demanding that Karsai get his Security forces and mililtary to STOP murdering our soldiers or else? Yeah, I agree on that one.

He used the same attack for 2 days, only apologizing after his sponsors started to bail. His apology is so sincere he couldn't do it on his show? He waits until Saturday?

The prez did. It's not important how you take them. Our prez thinks that Rush is so important he felt the need to involve himself in it. I think most people believe the prez has much more important things to get involved in. Try fixing some things, for heaven's sakes...and quite campaigning.
