From the article I linked to

    It hardly bares thinking about.

To judge from the hysterically nationalistic front pages of today's tabloids, all of it based on totally unsubstantiated reports out of Syria, I am now fully convinced that there will be a nuclear war, and sooner than we dare believe.

Of course we need to remember that although a military response from Russia appears to have been avoided, Russia did still say there would be consequences. They were discussing this on the Andrew Marr show today in particular to do with cyber war but then I noticed this

It was "Mad Dog" Mattis and real generals and admirals who picked what options would be used and what targets would be attacked, not liberal pantywaist civilians like we saw from 2009 to 2016.

Commander in Chief Trump picked what option would be used.

No more civilian micromanaging of the military by liberals that we saw during the Vietnam War or during the Obama PC years.

Kinda looks like President Trump enforced Obama's "red line in the sand."

Obama and Susan Rice, Valeria Jarrett, crooked Hillary Clinton and a few neocons created the Syrian civil war.
    Regime change # 3.
A complete failure just as regime changes # 1 (Egypt) and # 2 (Libya) were.

Obama's infatuation with the Muslim Brotherhood and Islam turned the entire Middle East and North Africa one big sh!thole.

That is the time he took for reacting to this, and here people wonder why Russia hasn't responded in the first 5 minutes concluding they wont respond.

He's pretty much has destroyed Obama's "JV Team" in just one year.

The "Islamic State of Iraq and Syria" ( ISIS ) seem to be stateless today, they no longer have Iraq or Syria as a state.

But Friday night I watched the Democratic Senator Brian Schatz while Syria was experiencing Trump's Thomahawk chop calling for allowing more ISIS refuges into the United States.

That's because of Assad, Russia and Iran. Not because the US does it all with their .. like what... 2000 soldiers?
You mean... people who flee from ISIS, not ISIS members. I know there are always these extreme people who would rather help push a Jew in the oven, instead of accepting them as a refugee. But hey... you're not one of them, right?

My son did two tours of duty in a FA-18 bombing ISIS and Al Qaeda.

But that was back when every time he had the bad guys targeted he had to first get permission by Susan Rice and Valerie Jarrett at 1200 Pennsylvania Ave.

Under Trump, Obama's PC ROE were removed and U.S. Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps were allowed to kill the enemy just like how the Russians are allowed to kill the enemy without being micromanaged by Putin and the Kremlin.

So what. The Russians and Iranians are at it so much more, that you can consider Iraq being part of the Iranian sphere of influence. Eat your heart out GWB.. lol

That is because Russia dosn't have the ability to respond. The only option to respond in kind, is drop a low-yield nuclear warhead somewhere. And that isn't an option they can do nor will they.

Exactly - all Russia got is nukes, which you can’t use unless you are ready to die.

Russia is all over Syria with their army... winning the war against ISIS, and the terrorists that the west support etc.
You think that even freaking Assad is impressed that 3 targets got hit by 3 nuclear powered western nations?
    What a total joke.

They still got an endless stream of soldiers. They don't care if hundreds get killed, as long as the objective is made in the end. And them lot are winning the war against western backed terrorist and ISIS at the same time.... without using nukes.

Your logic is flawed. If you want to count all potential soldiers you are going to lose - us population is more than double of Russian.

The days of massive number of soldiers being the the number one factor of winning war and battles are loooooooong gone. If Russia and the US went at it, Russia would lose.

You're post has nothing to with what I typed. Russia doesn't have the ability to respond to anything the US does military. Unless they want to employ nukes, which isn't going to happen.

It's Thursday morning and still none of that "feared" Russian response...according to some of the more nutty Russian apologists, we should have been seeing Putin's Satan missiles flying all over the place and destroying the usual targets....you know, Washington DC, New York. But no....strangely quiet Moscow does nothing but complain....and present silly motions at the UN that go nowhere!
