Heck no… I remember prices jumping THE DAY AFTER Bush number one became President – the stock market went berserk because the world market didn’t want to deal with a Republican President… Remember that? It was CRAZY!!

We don’t have enough to do our jobs properly… I post here because my work is so piled up – I could care less… 50% of the people who work here are looking for another job on the state/county or city level… It’s getting REALLY BAD!!! Did you know we don’t even have officers here in Oregon (Land Management) to kick the pot growing illegal Hispanics off of our Gov’t Land…

AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM!!! No President has done anything to you… What do you want him to do? Wash your car?... here is what a President can do – get people to kill people… Veto… “ASK” department heads to do things… and “try” to pass laws… the President is pretty much a nobody…

It’s the employees that make this America work… and why it’s failing is because there are no worker bees to get the jobs done!!! Congress, the House is what runs this country – not the President, and if he doesn’t get the cooperation and they are doing what they are right now – acting like a bunch of (*)(*)(*)(*)ing children, it won’t matter WHO is in there… If Romney goes in the Dems will pay them back for not cooperating and sit with their arms folded and we’ll get another 4 years of crap…

And your description sounds like what happened to me when I worked for Kodak... It was no big deal to a 20 hour day at least three times a year. In fact, a kid died, got hit by a bus because he just worked 17 hours and was basically sleep walking...

It's a risky choice.... Either get underpaid and work for the Gov't in a "specified" job OR - go on the outside and make ridiculous money in spurts... and based on the economy...

It's a life choice... I wasn't liking it about 15 years ago when my friends were making 150k and was was at 50k... But, now (there has been a freeze on raises mind you) they are (some) unemployed and the rest are making far less - only two are still making big money...

 

Then get a Gov't job and stop being jealous...

The federal govt. is going to shrink. But those who lose their federal jobs will find work in the food service industry. There are plenty of jobs in food service. If you want to survive, then take whatever work is available.

Americans who fail to improve their skills have in effect chosen to compete directly with low skilled third worlders for industrial era jobs. Only education and experience allows a worker to "add value" to a product when it passes through her hands. I didn't make these rules....external reality made up the rules.

I already had a government Job it sucked thanks. And everyone can't work for the government. Some one has to pay the (*)(*)(*)(*) bills.

 

My wife works for the government and most of them have little use for Obama. Many will vote for him because they have less use for Romney but Obama is the lesser of two evils to them not the greater good.

We did NOT get paid overtime, we had to “volunteer” to work, but if you didn’t, you’d get fired…

You were laughing. I was posting something to make you laugh more. I do understand your position and though some components of government only grow no matter what other parts get cut. For you is is about preserving your job. For others it is about keeping the tit exposed.

 

I couldn't agree with you more.... There are people here that are useless... BUT, there are people, like me that are needed. There are civilians that depend on me! I call them on a regular. Make sure they are well, that the Gov't (district offices) aren't screwing them, because people are human and even if your an (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) - we still need to follow regulations. I am honest, and truthful. If I leave - I know about 5 people that will be influenced by my departure. NOW, if this bastard I work with leaves - it will be a blessing. But, if a RIF happens, I am the newest employee as everyone is about to retire. So, guess who gets the ax? ME!!! My veterans status will not help me... I will be GONE!!!

I voted last week and I voted for Romney. Obama's immigration reform is nothing more than making 12 million illegals, citizens, at a time we have 20 million Americans hunting for jobs or only working part time. They would wind up in direct competition with most of the jobs Americans are after. They will only add to the unemployment numbers and add millions more to the welfare rolls we have to pay for. You tell me that is good for the country.

I also voted against Obama for his policy of wanting to put our biggest energy industry out of business. Which will lay off thousands of people and drive up electric rates at a time many are having a hard time paying for them now. How is that also good for our economy?

You may worry about what Romney MIGHT DO. I am worried about what Obama has said what he will do, along with what he hasn't said.

Romney also has a medical plan, which is the reason I think most are voting for Obama.

 

I have not checked in about a decade, but you may be surprised to see public and private jobs pays scales closer than you think.

I had about 20 years in the private sector as a contractor to various government agencies from federal down to local levels. We worked very close with these agencies, having our offices at these locations. There was a time government roles of say,an engineer paid much less as compared to a private position of same qualifications but at the same time retirement and other benefits most always were better in public. Before I retired, the gaps between public and private salaries had all but disappeared, at least in the agencies I was working.

Government needs to tell us the truth. Obama lies to often, easily, and has no problem throwing anyone under the proverbial bus in the process. All in the open like we are too blind to see it. I don't trust him.

Obama touts things like getting no help from republicans, yet seems to enjoy setting the rules of the game so he gets what he wants before negotiation begins. Example: he says he puts a bi-partisan panel together to fix budget, yet forces the solution to include Obamacare as is. When the republicans won't play, he calls foul. Politics we don't need.

Obama says he'll now cut oil imports and increase our independence from foreign oil, just like Romney, except Romney includes increased US Production, Obama does not. One way will stabilize or reduce prices, the other will skyrocket them.

We don't need anymore Obama.
