Tracking the COVID-19-Virus in Germany, the USA, Italy and other hot spots in the world

October 2020 was an astonishingly horrifying month in the history of COVID-19 across our world.

Unfortunately, I sense that November and December will be far worse.

I am.... depressed. Really depressed by this level of sickness, death, stress and in some corners, ignorance.

It didn't have to be this way.

 

While those numbers clearly indicate that 2nd wave is upon us there is no lag between the EU nations and the USA that was there during the 1st wave. If anything the US is AHEAD of the EU nations this time around.

Now I am going to make a prediction that nations in there southern hemisphere will be somewhat lower during this wave but will be the primary drivers of the NEXT wave when Spring starts in the northern hemisphere.

The virus THRIVES indoors but does NOT disappear outdoors when there is warmer weather. It seems to be capable of surviving where the Flu virus cannot. That makes it far more SERIOUS since there can be NO respite WITHOUT an effective vaccine.

We are on a global viral rollercoaster and we have learned how to treat the worst of the symptoms thanks to dedication and hard work of our scientists and medical staff worldwide.

What WE must do is make their job easier by REDUCING the spread with MASKS, Social Distancing and frequent hand washing.

You can then interpret the tables and screenshots for yourselves as you wish.

STAT'S EXCEL-TABLE:​

It was a huge newsweek on the COVID-19 front...foremost that the world is now jumping 1 million C19 cases in every 2.01 days. Also big news is the fact the the world went over +500,000 cases for three days in a row and stayed over +400,000 cases for the entire week. It's a whole new Covid-19 world out there.

Also, the USA set a new record and went over +100,000 cases in one single day, for the first time ever.

Also, in this week, the number of nations with over 1,000,000 total C19 cases jumped again, from 8 to 9, with the UK crossing over the 1,000,000-line in this week.

Also very disheartening is that Germany (where I live and work) crossed over the +10,000-case line more than once this last week. Germany is on lockdown as of today, 2020-11-002.

If you compare the weekly average of this week before to the preceeding week, you will see that the average +daily cases rose considerably (+496,971 vs +437,371 the week before, a significant jump) and the average deaths also rose (+5,821 the week before to +6,590 now). That translates to 345 C19 infections and 4.6 deaths PER MINUTE, EVERY MINUTE.

There can be no doubt about it: the 2nd major wave for the entire world is now here.

India is not going to be catching up to the USA in total C19 cases anytime soon. In India, the wave is verifiably receding, whilst in the USA, it is raging. Very soon, the USA will leave the 8-digit-zone and enter the 9-digit-zone in total C19 cases, a very, very sobering thought.

In terms of the countries with the most new cases:​

Actually, when you only see weekly reports, the +cases for just one day doesn't make a lot of sense, because Sundays tend to be a lot lighter than the middle of the week, and that skews our senses. Nonethless, I have decided to present the Sunday +cases this time because these days, even on a Sunday, you need two screenshots just to capture all the nations with over +1,000 fresh C19 infections.





And when you look at the entire week among the nations I am tracking (11 of them), here is how the weekly stats worked out in +cases:

And it should be said again that on Friday, 2020-10-030, with the week being analysed, the USA set a new and gruesome record by going over +100,000 C19 cases in just one day. Kind of gives Halloween an entirely new feel, nöööö....

In terms of total deaths per country, descending:

The top 4:

USA, total deaths: 236,471 / 19.62% of worldwide deaths (19.89% on the Sunday before). The USA is currently expected to hit 250,000 deaths Mid-November, 2020.

Brazil, total deaths: 160,104 / 13.31% of worldwide deaths (13.56% on the Sunday before). Extrapolated 200,000 death date, based on the daily average of 657 deaths per day, from 2020-10-014 = New Years Day 2021.

India, total deaths: 122,642 / 10.18% of worldwide deaths (10.27% on the Sunday before). India will likely go over 200,000 C19 deaths around January 12, 2021.

Mexico, total deaths: 91,753 / 7.61% of worldwide deaths (7.66% on the Sunday before). No extrapolation for 100,000 deaths quite yet.

Combined (610,970), the top four nations currently represent 51.70% of all total deaths in the world to-date (was 51.81% the week before).

65 nations have now administered more than 1 million tests apiece, with Lithuania and Hungary having crossed the 1,000,000 during this last week; of those 65, 12 nations have performed more than 10 million apiece. Of those 12, 3 have performed more than 100 million apiece.

END-FACIT: Logistical case growth, not exponential, but still, we are accumulating a huge number of C19 cases per day.

A record-shattering +584,732 new COVID-19 cases over the week before (it was +501,380 the week before that).
On 2020-10-030, with +103,530 new cases, the USA set a new +cases record for the entire world
KENTUCKY, COLORADO & NEVADA went over 100,000 total confirmed COVID-19 cases during this week.
KANSAS & NEW MEXICO went over 1,000 total confirmed COVID-19 deaths during this week.
MASSACHUSETTS went over 10,000 total confirmed COVID-19 deaths during this week.
There are currently exactly 4,000 COVID-19 deaths among US-Veterans who were in care from Veterans Affairs.

STAT'S EXCEL-TABLE:​

The USA is getting hammered by what for the world is the 2nd wave, but may simply be the 3rd loop of the 1st wave in the USA, since we never really tamped-down on the virus the first time.

The currentl 7-day rolling averages calculate to = 58 new infections and 0.6 deaths per MINUTE. EVERY MINUTE. NON-STOP.

The infection rate and the rate of ICU bed use is obviously going in the wrong direction.

Worst yet, the average daily deaths is now exactly where my extrapolation (see: bottom of analysis) pegged it to be 3 months ago . Remember, deaths are a lagging indicator, so the skyrocketing number of daily cases can only mean considerably more daily deaths starting about the 3rd week of November, 2020.

TEXAS led in +cases the first four days of this week, while ILLINOIS lead the last 3 days. On Saturday, 4 of the 5 top states were all neighboring states from the upper Midwest.

FACIT: we ended the 7-day period analysed with 236,471 total US deaths from COVID-19.



This means that we have currently lost the equivalent of the population of IRVING, never to get it back again.

ADJUSTED EXTRAPOLATION (started on 2020-08-001)​

As of 2020-08-001, I adjusted the extrapolation upward from an estimated average +700 deaths per day (from 2020-06-001 through 2020-07-031) to an estimated average of +850 deaths per day in the USA. Here the current projected milestones:

2020-09-020: 200,000 deaths (the old extrapolation projected: 2020-10-013). 200,000 deaths were reached 5 days before, on 2020-09-015.
2020-11-003 (Election Day): 237,500 deaths
2020-11-018: 250,000 deaths (the old extrapolation projected: 2020-12-023).
2020-12-031: 286,697 deaths on New Years Eve, 2020 going into 2021.

At current:



This means that we are currently at +724 deaths over the extrapolation, which puts us also currently slightly less than 1 day ahead of the next milestone-projections. The USA's current daily death average = +852, which squares exactly with this extrapolation. Wow.

I know it may be tiring to see these statistics all the time, but I do think it's important to follow the data-path every day and to put it in print, for posterity's sake, so that the naysayers cannot say "nay" without looking totally ignorant.

Washing hands wearing masks are all good things. But once indoors, or spending a lot of time indoors, they ain't going to do duddly.
Its a airborne virus, extremly aggresive. If you are indoors, store, office etc. and the air is not constantly clean, down to the virus level, that air you breath, or your eyes touches might reach a contamination level, were it infect everybody.
That is the major problem we are facing, fall, winter, spring, the virus polluted air inside.
If a Covid coughs, sneezes, exhales, speaks, mask or no mask, the Covid will unload viruses in the air and that virus can be in that air for more than 24h.
Here is a other kiker.
2 days, you go to Walli, grocery, pharmacy, parts shop. In every of those stores you just catch a few. As a single occurrent, would not be enough to make you sick, you even would not know, ever.
But than the accumulation over 48h could be as bad as a nice little cough from a Covid straight into the face, early Covid.

You wash your hands, because you might have touched a contaminated surface. But you should wash your face, too, because of the air.

Simple - don't be indoors. Not sure why people would need to be indoors when not at home or work? Groceries can be delivered, and just about everything else on planet earth can be purchased online. Medical appointments maybe? If not that, then it's likely people are going to public indoor places because they want to.

 

Are we experiencing, what my generations parents must have felt, the war generation, how their live s got torn apart, by something they had no control over. Victims, powerless, because of a force they can not control.
I am a old war horse, but it was my choosing, now it is mandatory draft, no choice, 100% draft.
We are all in it, World Wide, 7 billion, WW-C.
I have tried to wrap my mind around that and failed miserly.

One day, maybe next year, or the year after, with the vaccine this will end.

There is still a 70% correlation between % positives and deaths.
